We laugh at it because it's inefficient and has been proven to be unsustainable. I'm curious as to why Miami fans ride his jock so hard.

There's nothing wrong with supplementing talent with the portal, but totally ignoring HS recruiting(Which is what CU has done throughout the Sanders era), and relying on the portal is a good way to end up like FSU. Mario is building out the program in a way that is not only sustainable, but proven. You go out and hit the HS market hard, and if you are able to find upgrades at key positions, you leverage the portal. You do BOTH, you don't do one or the other(looks at Dabo). In a talent acquisition game, you never neglect any channel that can provide your program with players.

That's a fair assessment. That said, I would dare say there's more talent on the Miami D compared to those OU teams. That's why it's beyond frustrating. This D doesn't have to be elite, but it should be decent.

We know this is a lie. And even more of a lie with the portal. Just off the top of my head in the past couple years at worse programs than Miami.

Patterson at TCU
Brohm at Ville
Cignetti at Indiana
Deboer at Washington
Elko at Duke and A&M
 
I know many of you have been saying we are headed in the right direction. Please convince me after next year's performance. If we can't win the ACC Championship with Cam and playing a patsy schedule how are we going to fair next year w/o Cam and a tough schedule?

After Cal/VT game, I checked out emotionally. If we win we win, if we don’t we don’t. Fun to watch but really an 8-4 team with a few elite players & favorable schedule.

All these great QBs we’ve had who’ve gotten to be paired with some good to great defenses. We’re witnessing the greatest QB performance for us in a season and this is what he has on the other side.

Sh*t is maddening.

Yes our record would be worse, but the biggest caveat in that is that ward is not perfect and he’s not played perfect either in any game so far, he’s leaving stuff out there too(even with how great he’s played)
