Yea cause u can go into the portal take the best at whatever position available and the guy could be just a regular player. U take what is there and just because it may be a high ranking player doesn't mean anything. He's in a pool of players deciding to leave cause it didn't work out.

HS recruiting is the only way to make sure u getting your bang for your buck. Every senior in the country is available and a deeper talent pool in HS recruiting yearly

Mark Richt kept UGA fromrecruiting the way they were.

It was always there. A state like GA being flag ship school with no real instate comp an playing for championships has that ability.

I know thats why they are there but the FIX is in when it comes to the recruiting sites and UGA an Bama.

Imma keep it a buck...Bain played it the right way....had dude committed to us early he would of NEVER been a 98 comp rated recruit...the flirtationw ith bama kept his star rating immensely.

* Also the crying aint on the grip...its more so one the fact they got to pay EVERYONE of their recruits now when b4 they only had to pay to get them there..now they can also be poached.

Not without spending the same int he recruiting department and infrastructure that they do.

Mario knows a bout it being apart of it...just how Kirby Smart brought it to UGA but at a even more stronger level.

The problem is.......We are in a state with a BIG 3 and real talk you can almost sauy UCF has made it a big4. There is no monopoly on recruits in state here in FLA..and we are fighting the big 3 every year INCLUDING the rest of the country for our own recruits.

Which is why im happy we are in Tuscaloosa on a rb and planting a fladg in Louisiana...fight fire with fire...If yall wanna poach s.fla we will slip some guys in yall states yall aint make a priority.

Jimbo was in a state with the big 3, he went national. That stuff is overrated imo. Not that its not there as a factor, but UGA is recruiting on a national level and thats what we are doing. We have more in state players to choose from and they have more schools closer to them than any power 5 is to Miami. Tennessee, Auburn, Clemson are all nearer to Athens and Georgia in general than Gainesville is to Miami. And those schools recruit GA better than Georgia Tech. The local coaches were even getting mad Kirby was getting so many national recruits. Guarantee same thing will happen soon especially when the results come for Mario. But we are a national brand unlike FSU and UF who's recruiting is almost entirely in the south east. If you want top 5, top 3 classes, you need national recruiting. Wherever you get these players from. All it takes is an administration that says whatever the powers running the sport now are on....we are on it too. Big brands have convinced themselves they couldnt deal with Bama and it took a man who lived in the Bama blue print to bring it to UGA, another Bama blueprint man is bringing it to Miami. Thats why he didnt say he want a nice facility. He said he wanted 1 second to none, the best. Make recruits take notice. #1 classes are coming. Its time.

But to me, because of what I said, I go for ceiling when I look for a coach. And ceiling = recruiting prowess. It's the reason I went berserk on this board for years when arguments like Lane vs Mario came up. Give me Mario 10000000% of the time. Do I know Mario can win a natty? **** no I don't, and I wouldn't be surprised if he can't. But I *KNOW* he can recruit at the level that it takes to do so, and I *KNOW* Lane cannot. And when you say you cannot win a championship without recruiting ~Top 5 classes, give me the guy who can do that and I'll keep my fingers crossed that his coaching accumen can match his recruiting prowess. Because the guy who can't recruit ~Top 5 classes has literally no chance, his ceiling is completely capped.

Facts the one thing we do know is Marios work ethic compared to Lane id take any day! I believe he will get us there! It's amazing what's he's done in a little over a year time as far as this roster is concerned we're definitely coming!
