Will Rogers in the Portal

I think it's going to be him or Howard, preferably Howard
Def want Howard or Cam Ward over this guy. Miami needs someone with some threat to run. Really don't want another statue back there. And based on the numbers rogers production went down considerably ( I didn't follow his career at all and he did only play 8 games this year but still...)

He called a good enough season to win 9-10 games. Between TVD and Mario decision making, it cost us 2 games.
Ya but we could all agree the nc state loss all him 4 throws on the 4 with how we were running and then the lack of creativity at times wasn’t perfect but definitely worth the second season

He’s not a statue. Ball came out quickly in Leach’s offense, hence the low rushing numbers, but he’s a threat to run if you watch the film.

Miss St was also a trainwreck this year so I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock into it

No, Rogers and McCall are better options for us.

howard is not mobile enough to ignore all his flaws

if you all want mobile then let's get Murphy, ward, or someone else

if we want someone who won't turn it over and can run the offense with half a brain - Pratt, rogers, etc will be fine

Maybe statue was a poor choice of words but Low rushing numbers? Hes never had a season with a positive rush yard...wouldn't consider him a running threat looking at that. And I know sack numbers play a big part but Imo Miami needs a true dual threat guy.

If we want mobile there is already a dude on the roster who is playing in the bowl game. We need someone who can read a defense and is comfortable moving off his first read. If he can run it’s a bonus.

Rodgers is cheeks yall would be complaining about him every Saturday too
An elite QB would be great, but in reality we need a guy that can manage a game. McElroy, Mac Jones type guy. Neither of those guys were elite, but when place behind an elite OL, with pretty damned good run game, and big WRs...even a game manager looks elite. Just dont turn the ******* ball over.

Honest question.. I'm not arguing against a game manager, but have you watched any of Rogers film or even read anything about him?

I hate to keep beating this drum, but his physical limitations are noticeable from the jump. I'm not just complaining to complain. You can see it on film, on paper (stats) and its listed in literally every scouting report available.

People see his completion percentage "iN tHe SeC" and think it means he's a sniper. But he's not. He's a volume system passer.

The season he threw for 4739 yards, he needed 683 attempts - the second most in the nation. Of the top 50 QBs in passing yards that season, he ranked last in ypa and at 6.9 he was the only QB to average fewer than 7.4.

His career high in yards per attempt ranked 114th in the nation. His depth of target has consistently been one of the worst in the nation and his ypa was the worst for a Leach QB going back a decade.

This year was his first year not playing in the air raid. You know what happened? His completion percentage dropped to 59% and his passing success rate dropped to 36%.

I haven't even gotten to his lack of mobility, which also shows up on tape, on paper and on every scouting report available. Defenses want him to run.

I'm a full on Mario sluper. But even I can admit that the offense we'd have to run with Rogers at QB would leave me concerned. Especially with Emory as the backup/heir. Its explosive play repellent.

I’m not gonna sit here and say Roger’s is the most talented or best possible option but Why are you using YPA as the sole metric to determine his success when if you watched the games or any leach offense, that’s kind of the point

Other leach qbs have had higher yards per attempt but that doesn’t mean they were better it just means there was different talent on the field in terms of options, play calling, situations, etc that led to that

Qbr, passer rating, turnovers, sacks, big time throw metrics, etc are all way more valuable in judging QBs and we could much worse than Rogers

Unfortunately, I think Ward is Oregon bound.

I would go check on Seth Henigan before considering Howard or Rogers imo. Howard over Rogers for me, but neither of them get me excited that we have a game-changing QB.
