Why I Haven't Loss Faith That Mario Will Have Us In The CFP

The one thing that Mario is brought in to do was recruit an elite roster that would overcome is almost unanimously considered coaching shortcomings.

That's gone now. Also it's even harder to get in from the ACC unless we win or have a similar record but with two or three good power 2 opponents on the schedule.

Pretty much everyday it gets less likely to Mario to make it to the playoff. He's like the old coach that stuck in his ways and can't do it anymore except Mario never did it and is relatively young.

Size is nice to have but I rather have ❤️ heart leaves it all on the field with a refuse to lose attitude. This bowl game is a vacation game it doesn’t mean squat.

I know. Not sure what the answer is except coaching.

Kiko really regressed this year. Badly.

Instead, if he improved from his very nice season last year. This alone may have us at 11 wins. We all watched him chasing RB's.....as they were gashing us. And it's was not just him.
Result of a **** poor secondary?

I'm only commenting on the offense because it was so good and we lost so much talent there. We aren't going to outscore teams next year, Cam won't save us like he did this year.

There is no reason for me to believe if Guidry is our DC that he will turn around our D, my eyes saw what they saw and it wasn't pretty. Our schedule was as soft as it is going to get, next year is tougher.

Yes, Cam was 5-7 on a ****** WSU team and we were 5-7 without Cam in 2022 and 7-6 without him in 2023.
The point I was trying to make is that we needed Cam and he needed us. He was generational in the right situation but at Wazzu he was 5-7.

I don't see that. I see guys who played behind some pretty high level talent but who are still going to be very good. And you conveniently overlooked the fact the OL is all his guys and they're not actively pursuing more DL or LBs. So what does that tell you about their opinion of the quality of their returning players at those spots?
We didn't pursue that many secondary guys last year either and we see how that turned out. I did acknowledge the oline as I have Anez and Francis on my list of the few good players we know we can depend on. Two offensive lineman Mario recruited here. You say pretty high level talent and thats where we differ, I don't believe we had alot of high level talent last year in front of these guys. Especially on defense

I will add.

Our Linebacker play simply sucks. Bad gap integrity, bad attempts of anticipating the hole the RB will be taking. Bad Angles also to attempt tackling. No, not every play, but waaay to often.

And this has been going on for some years.

We need 2 studs to play strong, smart, and fast at LB positions. This alone would change outcomes of our games.

Then shore up the Secondary, but solid LB's ease that pressure, as they tackle the effing RB early, not from behind, or not at all.
It’s like playing the exact same players has yielded the exact same results

Crazy right?

1- what start now needs are you referencing?

2 - i don't view center as a true need. If we add one, cool. If not, I'm cool too. Ryan Rodriguez can start at center. He starred at center in high school. We also have SJ coming in.

3 - I don't think S&C was an issue. Did we have an injury problem this year? Did our players look out of shape at any point? Did we look physically overwhelmed at any point this season?
Plus, I believe we’re about to get that center from TCU for next year. So we’re definitely good there for next season. I don’t understand what that other posters beef is on our strength and conditioning program, I think our players look in shape to me.

I hate to be put in the position of defending Guidry but defense was our strength the year prior. His defense certainly has holes but relax with the exaggerating. Better talent can cover subpar coaching. Jimmy and Joe's over X's and O's.

I'm grateful to have had Cam Ward as our QB but I think we'll be fine without him. Cam was 5-7 at Wazzu.
Guidry has to go plain and simple. His coaching and unit single-handedly cost us a chance to be in the playoffs. There’s no coming back from that.

Isn't the trenches bothsides of the ball? cause last I checked we sucked on defense even the line
The vast majority that was the scheme. From a physicality And upside standpoint, we will be vastly more talented on the defense line next season versus this one.

QB, TE, WR, C, DE, ILB, CB, FS. All require portal player to start now.

Has Rodriguez finished a season?

Dunno what an SJ is.

Miami getting pounded by a GT team with no QB? Bullied by their 2* OL.

“Out of shape” Syracuse WRs are still running free.
So in other words, almost every position in the field. Some of these dudes don’t realize what they’re posting before they post it.

Mario built us from the inside out. Our trenches will be the strenght of our team next year. We'll have 5 players returning on the OL who started games for us.

If Mario can get Mesidor to come back, we'll have 3 out of 4 returning starters on the DL.

The key now is to surround them with the adequate pieces that complement that strenght.

Needs based on my assessment of the team:
-QB (One that can add competition to the room and elevate the floor of the room)
- TEx2 (1 in-line and 1 receiving threat)
-RB (Depth)
-LB (preferably one that can play 3 downs)
-Saftey (Free-S)
-CBx2
- DE (Pass rush specialist to for our speed package)
-WR (depth)
- DT (Depth)

You better hope so, cause he ain’t out coaching anyone.

I always laugh at stuff like this.

We had the #1 offense in the country. Number one. The number that’s above #2 in the rankings. Best in the country. Does that not take any coaching? Or it just happened? We just lucked into 45 a game?

Dawson coached his ******* *** off. It’s Mario’s team. Every offensive coach, and Mario, gets full credit for fielding the best offense in the country. They outcoached the **** outta people all season.

The defense was the exact opposite in every single way. So say whatever yall want, it’s not like anyone’s gonna learn anything reading the sewage on this site, but just realize yall sound like morons when you pick and choose what to cry about.

The offense was REALLY well coached. Full ******* stop.

All this chatter changes nothing.

There is only one issue that matters.

Miami leaving the ACC for membership in the B1G or SEC.

The program is likely near it's ceiling as long as Miami remains in the ACC. The B1G and the SEC will continue out-recruiting the rest of CFB while enjoying far higher TV revenues from the networks essentially running CFB and the CFP.

I disagree on having a star QB. We need an above-average qb to get us to the dance. Ask yourself does OSU have a star qb? What about Texas? Georgia? Penn State? Boise? Arizona State? Notre Dame? Oregon?

The best qb out of that bunch is Dillion Gabriel who is nothing special as a 6th year senior. He's a good qb.

Michigan didn't have a star qb last year. Neither did UGA when they won back to back. Above average to good qbs can get the job done.

The two best qbs in college football are playing in the Pop Tart and Alamo bowl respectively.
We do need a fourth quarterback IMO. It’s dangerous to roll into a season with just three, and with two having little to bo experience:
