Why I Haven't Loss Faith That Mario Will Have Us In The CFP

QB, TE, WR, C, DE, ILB, CB, FS. All require portal player to start now.

Has Rodriguez finished a season?

Dunno what an SJ is.

Miami getting pounded by a GT team with no QB? Bullied by their 2* OL.

“Out of shape” Syracuse WRs are still running free.
- Some of those start now positions you listed have players already slotted for them even with portal additions:
- QB: Emory
- TE: Lofton
- WR: CJ, Jojo, Ny, RayRay, Malachite
- Seuseu “SJ” Alofaituli can fill in for Rodriguez if he were to get hurt.
- DE: Bain and Mesidor would presumably be the starters.
- ILB: Popo or Wes

Also, Every team in the country outside of OSU and Oregon are dealing Depth issue due to player portaling out so give a break man.

UGA, who has the best defense in the country, got bullied by those 2* OL, too.

Syracuse WRs weren't running "free" they routinely won the 50-50 balls over Miami's DBs. That's a talent and scheme issue, not strength and conditioning issue.

Give it break, bro. You reaching too hard on a sabbathSunday.

D was out strength a year ago at 7 wins? Lmao. Kinchens regressed under his watch and we are going to by relying on maybe 2 new safeties and at 2 corners. He is on record saying his D takes at least a year for the secondary to learn. This age of football has passed him by. No ******* way you can bring him back.
Bro, I want Guidry gone too but I'm not losing sleep over it as long as Mario is improving our areas of deficit.

I'm not going to argue on this point with you. Have a good day and happy holidays.

Respectfully, that's just plain wrong. Did you see the OL he inherited? Most of the starters are his development kids. How about WR, you don't think Beard did a good job with Horton and George? Arroyo was out for nearly two years and looked near elite. Moten has turned into a really good DT, Wes took another big step this season. I won't mention Cici, Bain, Fletcher and OJ because they were pretty good from jump. But that's a lot of good players you can depend on.
I'm talking the 3 recruiting classes he recruited. Bain didn't look that great this year , moten is ok still has to prove he can be a good player game to game, Oj looks promising but I've been done crowning players off of 1 good year will see what he does next year. Wes might of took a step but thats not saying much. For arguments sake will include Isiah Horton, so going into next year players Mario recruited that are good players we know that we can depend on are Francis, Horton ( i know hes leaving), Fletcher, Anez, Oj and Bain? Out of 60 something kids he's brought in thats not good enough bud. And thats with the jury still out on OJ and Bain

Again. Having Ward gave D a false since of security.
Zero urgency.

D will be mentally more prepared next year.
The coaching staff, too. We should've been more insistent on running the ball this year but really didn't. We placed everything on Cam and paid the price at the end. Up 21-0 we should've been pounding a weak Syracuse run front with our 225lb RBs.

Year what, 4, and he needs that many pieces?

What a recruiter, eye for talent, developer, kind of guy he is.

I do realize NIL has changed things and only one thing can get us there, cash. Have that, then you better have the brains behind it to utilize it.
Every team in the country is dealing with similar issues. The portal giveth and taketh.

I will add.

Our Linebacker play simply sucks. Bad gap integrity, bad attempts of anticipating the hole the RB will be taking. Bad Angles also to attempt tackling. No, not every play, but waaay to often.

And this has been going on for some years.

We need 2 studs to play strong, smart, and fast at LB positions. This alone would change outcomes of our games.

Then shore up the Secondary, but solid LB's ease that pressure, as they tackle the effing RB early, not from behind, or not at all.

That's a lot of pieces needed to compete in year 4. My question is, why are there so many holes on the team from the recruiting genius?
This is the problem with you mopes. Some of these holes we have a lot of young, highly ranked recruits in that are simply unproven. Which is what happens when players graduate.

And also… the portal is a part of recruiting.

LB is interesting. We’ve recruited well there. If outside of Wes at least a couple of these guys aren’t ready to play major snaps then gotta ask what our coaches are doing. I would like to see another guy with some experience tho to compete and for depth if nothing else.

I don't see that. I see guys who played behind some pretty high level talent but who are still going to be very good. And you conveniently overlooked the fact the OL is all his guys and they're not actively pursuing more DL or LBs. So what does that tell you about their opinion of the quality of their returning players at those spots?

I know. Not sure what the answer is except coaching.

Kiko really regressed this year. Badly.

Instead, if he improved from his very nice season last year. This alone may have us at 11 wins. We all watched him chasing RB's.....as they were gashing us. And it's was not just him.

I hate to be put in the position of defending Guidry but defense was our strength the year prior. His defense certainly has holes but relax with the exaggerating. Better talent can cover subpar coaching. Jimmy and Joe's over X's and O's.

I'm grateful to have had Cam Ward as our QB but I think we'll be fine without him. Cam was 5-7 at Wazzu.

We had a generational QB, the best slot receiver in the country, a very good TE and a couple of more solid pieces at WR. All of this we lose next year. As of now we add CJ Daniels to our WR group to add to our young unproven WR's. We have nothing at QB that even looks like they're decent except for a true freshman who will probably be a stud and our starter in a couple of years. Our RB room is talented, but not deep. Our OL is good and shouldn't drop off any.

I'm only commenting on the offense because it was so good and we lost so much talent there. We aren't going to outscore teams next year, Cam won't save us like he did this year.

There is no reason for me to believe if Guidry is our DC that he will turn around our D, my eyes saw what they saw and it wasn't pretty. Our schedule was as soft as it is going to get, next year is tougher.

Yes, Cam was 5-7 on a ****** WSU team and we were 5-7 without Cam in 2022 and 7-6 without him in 2023.
