Why does this keep happening?

I think it’s the coordinators because under Richt in 2016 and 2017 we went 7-1 in November. Teams actually improved under Richt down the stretch.
Brotha who do you think hires the coordinators?

In no way shape or form is this not on the head coach which overall then is on the idiots who hire the head coaches.

Rick is the best coach we’ve had I agree. It’s the only time we came close to making a good hire but unfortunately he had health issues

Yeah wild as **** bro.

We’ve had two junctures we could have made an impactful hire. When Rick stepped down and when we got rid of Diaz. We saved so much money on Rick’s buyout and then post Diaz we were willing to spend.

Yet neither of those times resulted in a proper coaching search as you astutely pointed out in your previous post.

It’s just sad how this program is run.
I tried to enjoy every minute of Cam Ward and the offense this year because the threat of becoming FSU this offseason has always been lingering

It’s gonna get really ugly with that schedule next year

I've been saying this ...its something about the culture here that no matter who coaches here these things just keep happening. From the losses to players one year looking like there going to be all- Americans one day to just falling off a cliff the very next year. Heck now all of a sudden Mark Fletcher seems to have developed a fumbling problem. We've seen coaches not do much here leave and go have success. Its just exhausting 😟

Nepotism...they keep hiring former Canes or coaches with no experience (Diaz). The best coach we've had in the past 20 years has been Al Golden, who inherited an absolute **** show with the Shapiro investigation/sanctions, but he refused to hire a real DC.

If we want to be relevant, they need to fire Mario and pay the piper, then back up the Brinks truck and pay Saban or Meyer probably $15 million/year...this won't happen. Also, stop hiring former Canes

It’s a mixture of the HC and the money allotted to spend on the staff. Guidry never was the DC at a power 4 school. We either hire a coordinator who has never been a DC/OC at a power 4 school or is an old retread like Steele.

The last coordinator who we hired who worked at a power four school who was fairly young was Manny. The school is spending the money in the wrong places.

They and so many fans think there is some special formula to Miami’s success.

They act like they know Miami history but are actually clueless.

We won 4 nattys with Schnelly, Jimmy, and Dennis. All outsiders.

Our slide began with hiring internally, getting Coker instead of actually conducting a proper search. The idiots in charge thought it best to listen to the players for the next hire.

And this was at our peak of relevance. You almost can’t make that type of incompetence up.

If they want to be relevant they need to give some of the money for NIL to hire a DC who is still hungry who develops talent, has done it before at a power 4 school, and has something to prove. Go poach a proven commodity.

It’s systemic in that we don’t have the system necessary to hire good head coaches.

The people in charge are absolutely clueless on what it takes to run a program, no matter what they say, no matter how much money they throw at the problem.

So we get head coaches like Mario who can’t coach his way out of a paper bag much less finish strong in November.

And then lastly this website pumps up those losers and holds no one accountable because access to said program is contingent on being the propaganda arm of the school
Picking coaches is hard.

The boards get it wrong all the time, too. There is a long list of Golden Boys on here who are out of work.

Football , baseball and now basketball. You hear the Cupoto stuff already. The most successful coach we’ve had in forever ( Coach L) had no connection here.

Give coaches a NIL contract for supplemental income? We'll be having coaches marketing ozempic on Instagram.

No I’m saying the boosters need to give some of the money to help porch a quality proven coordinator so we aren’t stuck with the Blake Bakers or Lance Guidrys who haven’t been a DC at power conference before.

Your FCS games are typically in August and Sep. Your conference games are in Oct and Nov and those coaches have you scouted out. I think if you looked at most schools, they would have a similar split.

Picking coaches sure is hard when you keep handcuffing yourself with moronic parameters like being a Miami guy.

Picking coaches sure is hard when you never actually conduct real searches and limit yourself to a pool of 1-2 guys.

Well the cool thing is they did open the pocketbooks for assistant coaches. We don't have a bad DC because of money we have one because his boss thinks he should be here.

Good coaches watch film and expose opponents. After the first few games everyone with a pulse had the book on our defense. Our coaches couldn’t do the same. I think we consistently hire bad gameday coaches.
