Why did we finish So Bad?

Taggart has now beat us out for Samuel, Gainer, Peters, Chatman,Goss and Briggs.

You are reaching. Gainer is a legacy and was committed to them long before Tag got there. I don’t think we went to visit Peters, Samuel can be argued but the rest..yeah, L.

His D Line coach is top 3 recruiter at the position in the nation. FSU aint going anywhere on the trail.

Miller is going to be a good player. He developed late and didn't attend camps/send game film. Teams started catching on late.

Overeall, Storm18 is a really good class. Offensively, I wouldn't trade our class with anyone in the nation. Defensively, it's solid but could have been special.

We actually did not finish poorly...

For some reason, people on this forum thought Miami had a chance with players that had very little to no interest in Miami throughout the process or players committed elsewhere.

We otherwise landed who we were expected to land today. Nesta, Miller, Bethel, and Ezzard.

There were no flips or surprise commitments.

We missed out on several key players, but we missed out on them LONG before today despite courtesy visits and late interest.

No we missed out on chatman as well. This D-Line class outside of nesta is terrible. We we're forced to offer Jordan miller a scholarship strictly because we could not get anyone else.

This. Jordan Miller is not a Miami caliber DT, just like Nigel Bethel is not a Miami caliber CB.

They were only offered because we whiffed on everyone else, and the staff must have known that it was coming.
Terrible job recruiting the front 7 this year.

I'd take Miller over Briggs easily.

Hopefully you get hit by a bus asap, what a miserable loser you are

Bunch of miserable losers show their faces right around this time every year.

Second recruiting class by Richt (1st one wasn't really his). I'll take where we are at & where we're going over the likes of UF & FSU!

We had a small amount of kids to focus on after the early signing period. We were able to focus all of our resources on a limited amount of kids. Yet, we missed out on Campbell, Surtain, Chatfield, Chatman, Coburn and Briggs. We instead closed with Bethel, Miller and Ezzard. Silvera has been committed for almost a year. So, anyone who looks at this objectively and does not say this was a failure of a closing, than not sure what you would consider failing. Don't think anyone is implying that the class overall was a failure, but this closing was a massive failure. And we have now seen this 2 years running were this staff has not been able to close down the stretch. And this year they had a massive built-in advantage with only having to focus there efforts on small group of kids.

jordan miller is a stud. you guys are star ranking zombies. its important, but feel free to think for yourselves once in awhile too.

Do you know how many Luqman Abdallahh and Josh Holmes and Chaz Washington and Jeff Brown and Delmar Taylors some of us have seen come and go? And how many posts like yours some of us have sat through, telling us how good the 2 star kid is and that we're all just being ranking whores? **** I remember reading about Manny Lawson and Denny Fortney saving the day in an old Canesport magazine and people on Grassy making them out to be the next Warren Sapp and Jerome Browns.

Defensive tackle is a numbers game. Most of them don't pan out. You better sign a lot of kids who look really **** good on film and hope you hit on 40% of them. Miller's big and doesn't look like the least talented DT we've signed or anything but there's a reason he was there for the taking in late January.

We have not signed enough. We have failed. We are now in a position where we better start praying Willis, Ford, and Nesta are the absolute real deal and none of them turn an ankle. That's not where you want to be in year 3.

And wow at saying that kids from our own backyard are not kids that sign with us. Really? If that is the case we should just dismantle the program now. Because if we can't sign elite kids from our own backyard, no need to even bother trying to compete with the big boys.

#4 class now, Penn State lost a kid to taint.

we're not finishing top 5; Penn St. will jump us since they have at least 1 other kid about to commit, and then clemson or bama might pass us

Cry me a river bro. We are right around top 5. That's pretty Fn solid but you don't seem to look at the bright side of things. Actually upset about our class being #6 instead of #5. You sound like a grade school schoolgirl right now

I'm not happy how today went at all BUT the early signing period (which I'm a YUGE fan of) is part of the problem in perception here. When you start out as good as we did with all the early signees and leave some spots of need come down to 6 or 7 NSD targets then your whiffing in February can seen extra exacerbated.

The sky wouldn't be falling in a lot of our eyes if all the early signees were only sending in LOIs today.
