Exactly...What is a "gimmick" on defense?....You use different looks and blitz from different positions on the field to confuse offenses....isn't that what you suppose to do??

The numbers don't lie....You can't gimmick those...and even against the elite teams...we've held them under their average points and total yards per game....
 
If standing up your DL is a gimmick, NFL teams are also "gimmicky."
If multi-position blitz packages are a gimmick, NFL teams, come on down.
Diaz used to be a little bit more of a risk taker in terms of his assignments, but I didn't see any gross exaggerations last season.
Also, we shouldn't give a ****.

I immediately assume anyone using the term "gimmick" is a moron. It's usually some traditionalist **** who's upset that something less than traditional is working well.

I think it would be someone we play regularly or someone that this is personal to. I did think Oaul Johnson might have said it. Of course we are all thinking head coaches, but it could be a non head coach right? I think Ava Tech and UNC certainly want us down. Louisville has a real winner at HC.

Im not gonna lie. I could see Manny Diaz saying this to the reporter with guarantee of anonymity just to fire the defense up.

He had no problem calling our SunLife set-up bush-league, so I wouldn't put this past him.

This is something Jimbo would say having said we didn't deserve our ranking last year, but I couldn't see him saying this after the way we rag-dolled his boys last season.

I kinda like Dabo and respect what he's done at Clemson. But I'd love to knock them back to the 2nd tier of CFB where they belong in the ACCCG.
