Where we go from here

A team meeting needs to take place, where each player comes clean admitting if they are good enough to play. Then go to the coach and offer to help better the team, even if it means they let someone else play their position. There should be no entitlements or givens for any position. Any player playing poor two weeks in a row, should be replaced by whoever, no matter if they are better or worse.

The offense needs a QB that doesn’t continually throw over the heads of wide open receivers. The skill positions on offense are elite. We just need someone that can make the simplest of throws. Every throw last night was an adventure. If it wasn’t for Thomas and Hightower, Rosier’s completion percentage would have been under 30%.

Not good. My hope with Perry is that he looks better playing real games than in practice. Which is possible.

Do you think it has to do with running with 2nd team, while rosier runs with starters while facing 2nd team defense? Corches seem to not be able to evaluate properly because in first 2 series you can see Rosier sucks, even if he completes a pass

After what I’ve seen the past few years, I struggle to put too much stock into QB performance on Greentree.

With that said, Williams is the most gifted passer. He has the most accurate arm and plays with anticipation. His physical tools are top-shelf. Gun to my head, he’s a cut above the rest.

But we don’t know anything until they play real games.

Based on your QB evaluation history, if you think Perry looks bad then he's probably our best option.

Personally, I want to see what Cade is made of in live action.

This is part of it for sure, especially for Williams. He gets the least reps with good players.

Can't see hanging on with Rosier especially since he's a senior. Need to get someone else ready NOW & the next 4 games is the time to do it. If the other 3 are worse than Rosier then we're really in deep do do. I hope Cade starts on Sat & also hope to see plenty of Nikosi.

First off, I apologize for hyping this product. It’s embarrassing. Instead of erasing the Peach Bowl memory, we told the world nothing has changed. We won’t be respected for a long time after this. And we shouldn’t be.

As hopeless as we all feel, there is an entire season to play. Many seasons that looked doomed after the first game turned out very well. What are the best (realistic) steps to get things moving in the right direction? No coach is getting fired mid-season, so I’ll leave that to the other threads.

My overarching thought is this: we let experience play over talent because we started with LSU. That didn’t work, and every inferior talent got exposed. Now is the time to trust and fast track the talent.

QB- This is an obvious one. Rosier is 47% over his last eight games. That is a sample size of more than half his starting career. You can’t win like that. He’s not even the most athletic QB on the team. If anything, he’s the least dynamic.

We will be the underdog against every good team we play as long as Malik is the starter. What kills me the most is the lack of urgency he plays with. He was lifeless.

Greentree is not effective for evaluating QBs. Rosier looked improved until the real games started. We have four light games coming up. Put all three young guys under the fire (with live tackling) and see who emerges. Mix in reps with the first team. Use this schedule and the new redshirt rule to find out who belongs under center.

OL- Richt has been privately telling people that this team will take the next step when Delone Scaife, Cleveland Reed and John Campbell are ready to play. Time to expedite that process. Our guards looked out of place last night. A team like Clemson will make them look worse.

We need to get our guys through growing pains early. I’m not saying to start all three, but give them meaningful reps starting immediately. Scaife at RT and Donaldson at G may ultimately be the move.

P/K- Same story as above. Open it up over the next four games. We need to find out who is ready to play in a live environment against FSU. We were playing with a handicap all night.

DB- Dean and Knowles looked like the same guys. They are older than the others but not any better mentally. Time to let the young bloods learn on the job.

LSU was the perfect first test for us because they are strong where we are weak. Physical, strong and able to neutralize our athletic advantages. We failed the test miserably. Now is the time to radically rethink our approach as we look towards FSU.

This is the challenge as I see it as well. Guys like Knowles, Jones, Mahoney, Dean, Finley know what to do, but lack the talent to do it against quality teams. We have the young guys in the program to replace them, but the staff has been committed to bringing them along slowly. Imo, the young guys have sat long enough on oline and at some level DB. No reason for Carter and Smith to be playing behind Finley and Knowles. Same with QB. It is sink or swim time for Perry. Either he is the guy or you go with Williams or cade. We can beat Clemson if start to bring the young talent forward and let the older weak links provide depth. Same with Nesta, Ford, Miller and Lingard. I love Bethel, but he isn't the answer as a starter. Same with choc, fullback? Sure. #3 back? That has to be lingard

nothing will change at the quarterback position after the season. Coach richt already showed his hand in interviews this offseason saying how he wish he wouldn't have pulled Malik against Pitt. This season will go down the drain

Y’all are smoking crack with the fire Richt or he should be on the hot seat comments. He’s been a great ambassador for this program and needs a chance to see if he’s willing to correct this **** show.

Yes if we lose anymore games this season then I may change that opinion but for now we gotta see if this is an Al Golden “I’m not ever going to make a change” type of situation or if he will be willing to make adjustments even if it’s firing coaches, hiring an OC, getting rid of Hartleys *** afcknsap etc

You really think he is going to fire son?
He can’t fire himself as the OC because that would be the end of his son as QB coach. Any OC worth having won’t accept his son as QB coach.

Problem is we seem to have players who either think or have been told they’re better than what they are in reality/production. Add to the fact we apparently don’t have a tremendous way of getting useful data from greentree, and we’ve got ourselves some **** to worry about.

D$, you had some objectivity. But all of us are guilty of drinking too much of the Kool-Aid from numerous other sources, especially the staff; Improved Rosier (and I was a defender), Improved O-line, Improved punter (don't worry about that 4-11 stat for the FG kicker), Improved DTs, One of the Best WR's, Solid secondary...Then watching a bunch of them telling us how they improved in interviews (Rather than proving it on the field last night).

I knew when we were in Panic mode about the O-line in Spring, then all of a sudden it was good in August - or that we had a huge drop off at DT, then started hearing how we might be better off - it was smelling a little fishy. That stuff just doesn't happen too often, as LSU's lines, built for SEC play, showed us.

The most telling thing an announcer said last night was about the Turnover Chain: We were 10-0 with 30 takeaways. We are 0-4 since with only a single takeaway. You all know what he was suggesting... Think it's time they put the chain in a museum - it was cool for most of the season last year, but no longer relevant with our defense.

Where do we go from here?

We endure another 5 years of mediocrity and sunshine pumping from the CiS guys until the WEZ has finally had enough and start the banner air force again.

Unfortunately Butch Davis the God won't be a viable candidate by then.
FYI if Richt was fired today, botch would not be a viable candidate to replace him. Botch will never coach at the U again. This is a fact.

Indeed, we have a problem. If coaches can’t be accountable in telling a kid the truth, then we have coaches not willing to face the truth. And that’s a cancer on a team.

Every time we have had winning years here, the coach has been an SOB towards some coaches and players. That is what we need. Not some grandpa bearing Christmas gifts to kids, because it looks cute.
