On kicking the field goal instead of going for it:
“Always process oriented,” Cristobal said. “Fourth and goal from the 10 is a really, really low percentage conversion play. We relied all year on analytics, and it’s been very good for us. We did so there at well t thinking four minutes with the ability to stop the clock three times, that is what it pointed to. So we went with it, it didn’t work out. But we relied on it all year and it’s been good for us.”

"We gave ourselves a shot at the end. Heck, four minutes (left) we thought we could make them one-dimensional (with the run since Syracuse needed to run clock) – they popped a couple of runs. All in all, not a good day.”

On the defense in general:
“Sometimes we didn’t communicate well enough, other times we were out of position. Other times they flat out made a play. Their passing game, the ball is out. They protect, get it out. The precision of their route running is really, really good. We had early success, after that it was spotty. And we hurt ourselves with penalty, some techniques, fundamental stuff.

On signing day:

Cristobal stressed that the key is to stay level-headed and not get caught up in the whole money aspect, with the need to evaluate those players who are going to work hard to get better and be dedicated to the cause.

“People are going to overbid to make a splash and fun and high fives (on signing day) – you have to assess, is it worth it or are we better off investing in something else,” Cristobal said.

Bingo, what do you tell defensive recruits at this time. He should have gotten more involved with the defense, right after USF. ****, the Georgia Tech coach, fired his defensive coordinator the week before he played Miami, and they beat us. You are taking on water, stopped the boat, and patch the hole.

Statistic is for losers, take away your nonconference games, and it seemed every game was a shootout. ****, SMU had like 6 turnovers against Duke, and still gave up less points than we did.

he doesnt know how to manage a game. hes got no skills in it. anyone with eyes should have known we arent getting a 3 and out after we didnt manage one since the first quarter. yet mario relied on a useless chart and took the game out of his best player who carried his *** all year. on top of that, you still NEEDED A TD. i hate this man more and more when he gives more excuses

3 years is enough time for a supposed great coach to turn it around. the defense is bad even the 10 win season is a mirage. its no diff than the 9 win covid year w king who carried us

Well, all those 3 star kids you have brought in for the “cause” are not cutting it. Get that midget out of the building and get better recruiters/evaluator's.

If he doesn’t pay in the portal this month and 2026 class then we are in big trouble.

This board is funny. One minute he’s too involved, the next minute he’s not involved enough. That being said he basically said best aspect of our defense is bad. Fire Guidry

Some of those 3 stars have looked better than our highly ranked guys.

his position for weeks has been not to overpay certain kids. You over pay to try and get Jeremiah smith, not Stubbs

Spot on! That chart works when you’ve had a handful of stops. Besides Pruitt’s strip, we never stopped them after the 2nd series

His position has always need that. That’s why his misses in coordinators, recruiting and portal are hurting the program. Next year, Cam isn’t walking through that door:

Pruitt, Anez cooper, day, OJ and some others have shown more than our high 4 stars.

Mario won’t be shaken down by certain kids maybe you view it as a problem but it’s reality. We have guys on this board who are smart telling people stubbs is overrated and yet we should overpay for him?

You’re reaching on some of those names. I can’t help you there. Lol

It isn’t just Stubbs. It’s many kids who we missed on that isn’t being talked about in public. IYKYK. We waist time recruiting/flipping these kids to the end knowing we aren’t going to outbid other programs. Teams are over paying. It is what it is. Adapt or enjoy these ****** NSD’s.

I said they have looked better than some of the other kids we have recruited. What’s a reach? Cooper is going to nfl OJ will win freshmen awards. Pruitt just makes plays when given a chance.

Keep in mind they are flipping two more Texas kids. Only Mario can’t recruit. Maybe he understands you over pay a kid like Stubbs and he will do this every offseason. Ask people how tvd try to hold us hostage two offseasons in a row.
