What's wrong with this fanbase?

Miami fans expect to win.

I don't see players that didn't get into UM going to any other school not named Marshall or West Virginia so admissions is fine.

I want be interested to see a stat that shows average attendance per student for every D1 program. What I mean by this is Miami has 10,369 undergrads. I am not sure how much we average but lets say it is 45,000. That would be 4.34 per student. Texas A&M has 58,804 but last I checked they don't have 255,201 per game.

So maybe we got a lot of Canes fans they didn't attend the U or grow up in South Florida.

Umm the two kids who won the game for our hated rival couldn't get into Miami.

They choose not to come to Miami.

If you mean they chose not to get their test scores up when FSU told them they didn't need to, yes.

When both those kids committed to FSU, not only were they ridiculed for "being too lazy to qualify here", but they were predicted to be mediocre bc of that. And yet those kids WON FSU A TITLE. Not Jameis or their D. Stud talent that wanted to be Canes until our holier than thou standards forced them elsewhere.

Ultimate recruiting pitch by far.

I'm a better fan than you because I'm perfectly happy losing, getting tossed around by crappy teams every week, looking completely uninspired and lost, getting opposing HCs lucrative jobs, and I worship our HC instead of the program. That's what I'm getting from the snot-nosed sniveling OP's posts.

Meanwhile, his hero Al took the redeye to Tallahassee to be there to rub his boss Jizzbo's feet this morning. Jizzbo had a grueling night winning a NC last night.

This fan base has some serious issues with supporting their team. If I were to ask Miami fans three years ago, what would this team look like heading into 2014, what would some of the responses be? Probably on probation, bowl bans for the next seasons, major scholarship reductions and middling program heading down a nowhere path. Most fans would, most fans meaning fans other than Miami fans, would say where we are considering where we were three seasons ago, would look at this and say that is quite the accomplishment. But Miami fans, not a chance in ****. Our coach cleaned this program up in really one season. All the dead weight, trouble making kids were gone before the season truly started. And he has slowly built this team under the NCAA scrutiny and negative recruiting for 2.5 seasons. We lost our best position coaches, Fisch, McDonald, and Richardson before this season. We lost our best offensive player right as we hit our toughest part of the schedule and we still managed to win 9 games. A two win improvement from last season, even with all the changes. If we have Duke for the Va Tech and Duke games, we would've won those two games. This was a 10-11 win team last season with a healthy Duke Johnson, but he wasn't and we had a RB committee that wasn't ready for that workload. I know the defensive problems we had, added depth and players better suited for the system will help alleviate some of the issues. But as a fan base, why do we hate this program so much? People are really considering not donating money to their "favorite" football program. People will boycott games, I mean really? People always say, how come these S FLA kids don't wanna stay home and play for their hometown team? It's funny because those some people are the ones who won't support this program. At all. Butch will never coach here again. PSU is not gonna hire Golden. I may be in the minority on this one, but when Golden leads this team to great things I'll be waiting for this fan base to jump onto it's own bandwaggon and support our Coach.

Even if you don't know what a paragraph is, just randomly hitting the "enter" key is better than this.

What happened was that after 10 years dying of thirst in the desert and getting twerked by one mirage after the other, we thought we found a canteen full of vitamin water and passed it around. Strung out for miles on the trek, each of us took a swig thinking "at last!" because the guy that filled it was known to have found a good well or two in lesser deserts even though he had an associate with a penchant for finding mud and calling it perrier....

....and when it turned out to be full of sand... we just frikking lost it. Searing, horribly hot still. Most have fallen to writhe in the sand and on the verge of losing consciousness in their despair, can't stand it anymore saying the weirdest, most angry stuff before crossing over to the next life.

That's what happened.

The admin lawyers got us off the NCAA radar. Goldens job is to recruit and coach the team. His loyalty to No D has brought us to new lows for theb past two seasons on D. Thats on him and nothing to do with the NCAA. Great players have come to this program despite the NCAA mess. There are been problems recruiting but very minor scholarship reductions. Gameday coaching amd the NCAA have nothing to do with each other. Its a problem for recruiting. Stop perpetrate this sham. Not only do they get their pants pulled down....Golden refuses to accept changes need to be made. It will be his downfall. Loyalty should never be traded for mediocrity and other than sticking around Golden has not proven he can win a single game against a competent coaching staff with similar or better talent.

blah blah blah blah****ing blah

I'm a better fan than you because I went to the same school at an earlier point in time?

I'm a better fan than you because I am a Republican and Donna is a Democrat?

I'm a better fan than you because I wanted both the black and white head coach to succeed?

I'm a better fan than you because I stir up **** and talk tough on a message board and think anyone who does not is a slurper?

Are you ******* serious?

Come on mane! We are better than this! (and the I'm upset let me vent excuse is somewhere between 8 weeks and 10 years old)

What's wrong with ME as a fan in the fanbase?

The ice cold realization that we were better off with Clappy.

Look, all I'm saying is, this guy had a death penalty staring him in the face, and righted the ship. He made this a nine win team with all the problems he face, and yet that isn't good enough. I'm not in favor of keeping coach D or jethro, but with added depth I'll give them another year. I just think it's absurd to see this fan base turn on coach as quickly as they did. It went from flying a banner against Wake, to fire him two weeks later.

Our schedule made this a 9 win team. If this year's team played last year, this is a 7 win team at best. We actually regressed. Last year's VT was much better and we beat them 30-12. This year was one of the worst VT teams Ive seen and they smoked us.

The enter key is your friend.

See, it worked for me.

You can separate different ideas.

And not lose people with it's use.

Thanks for listening.

Do fans really have a grudge against the students because they think they're preppy ivy-league kids who are responsible for destroying the U??? I mean I think the city should be happy to have a highly regarded school to represent the city of Miami.

Who the **** are some of you people? Regardless if it's the Canes, Heat, Marleens, Dolphins, or even the Panthers...no one in SoFla gives a **** about the sports product until it's a hot ticket. It's not just a Canes fan thing, it's a transient community, rather be on the boat, rather be on the beach, rather be in the pool, rather be at Tootsies kinda town. Can't compare a small private school just south of SoBe, to Tuscaloosa, Starkville, Baton Rouge, Oxford, Athens, Gainesville...C'mon man!

Why do we assume that Golden was fighting the"Death Penalty"? No one has gotten the Death Penalty since SMU... The Death penalty consist of a year ban, no televised games and lost of scholly's... Golden wasn't going to get that... For a couple of drinks and a strip club outing we were not getting a Death Penalty... USC and OSU was in a worse predicament than us and the Death Penalty wasn't an option...

Many of us exaggerate Golden's tenure here... He didn't walk into a good situation but he isn't the only one... There have been other coaches with more success that walked into worse situation (I.e. Chip Kelly) and found success... He needs to win games...

aelmiami,
Perhaps I can provide you with the knowledge you seek. First allow me to ask these questions:

1) Are you a UM alum?

2) Did you grow up in south Florida?

I'm attending, right now. And no, I'm from south georgia and I see passionate SEC fanbases every time I go home, which is where my confusion comes from. Like Tennesee fans always support their teams and look what they've been through.

You don't know what we've been through.

You can sum up every reply the OP generates with what you said. So true. Its been a long, hard fall. If you told me in 2002 that Brock Berlin would be our best QB over the next 12 years, I would have asked you to step away from the meth. You want to know how hard it has been? Take a look back. Kirby Freeman led us to our ONLY bowl win in the past 9 years. A 1 point win over a WAC team bringing our final record to 7-6.

You want to know why this fanbase is frustrated OP? The best team we have had in the past 9 years was our 9-2 squad that got blown out in the Peach Bowl 40-3 by LSU. In 2005, that loss was unacceptable. We were livid and heartbroken. That has been our BEST year since.
