Ael - Don't argue with idiots. People watching might not be able to tell the difference.
Ah exactly. A current student who embraces the concept that we shouldn't allow anything but elitist AP students into the university, and as such not use the sliding scale that every ****ing good team uses.
You ain't no Cane. You are a University of Miami student. The U is dead, and we have you and your ilk to thank for it.
I picked Miami, because I have always been a Miami fan. My entire family likes Miami, I knew of the 80's before the 30 for 30 came out. I am a diehard Canes, and not because I attend the school. But because I'm under the age of 30, "I ain't no cane right?" I'd rather see Dorsett or Duke fire off two imaginary pistols, then celebrate how they do now. But just because I am a younger fan doesn't mean I don't understand the legacy of Kosar, Highsmith, Irvin, Sapp, Lewis, Testaverde, Marlyand, Brown, the fatigue game, catholics vs convicts, the aura of the U and how spectacular the Orange is, not was. But since I'm 21 i'm blowing smoke right?
You aren't a Cane b/c if you were you'd understand why the University has become a symbol of everything we hated. Miami now is so much closer to Notre Dame than it is "the U"......It's being held hostage by a bunch of short ****ed ******s who hand picked kids like you to be the face of a new type of student body. One that simply cannot have the likes of Kermit Whitfield amongst it.
This fan base has some serious issues with supporting their team. If I were to ask Miami fans three years ago, what would this team look like heading into 2014, what would some of the responses be? Probably on probation, bowl bans for the next seasons, major scholarship reductions and middling program heading down a nowhere path. Most fans would, most fans meaning fans other than Miami fans, would say where we are considering where we were three seasons ago, would look at this and say that is quite the accomplishment. But Miami fans, not a chance in ****. Our coach cleaned this program up in really one season. All the dead weight, trouble making kids were gone before the season truly started. And he has slowly built this team under the NCAA scrutiny and negative recruiting for 2.5 seasons. We lost our best position coaches, Fisch, McDonald, and Richardson before this season. We lost our best offensive player right as we hit our toughest part of the schedule and we still managed to win 9 games. A two win improvement from last season, even with all the changes. If we have Duke for the Va Tech and Duke games, we would've won those two games. This was a 10-11 win team last season with a healthy Duke Johnson, but he wasn't and we had a RB committee that wasn't ready for that workload. I know the defensive problems we had, added depth and players better suited for the system will help alleviate some of the issues. But as a fan base, why do we hate this program so much? People are really considering not donating money to their "favorite" football program. People will boycott games, I mean really? People always say, how come these S FLA kids don't wanna stay home and play for their hometown team? It's funny because those some people are the ones who won't support this program. At all. Butch will never coach here again. PSU is not gonna hire Golden. I may be in the minority on this one, but when Golden leads this team to great things I'll be waiting for this fan base to jump onto it's own bandwaggon and support our Coach.
While ael's original post sucks my *******, his last few posts have been good. He's a Cane, just gullible enough to buy a used car from Golden's Auto Exchange.

this is spot on
Look, all I'm saying is, this guy had a death penalty staring him in the face, and righted the ship. He made this a nine win team with all the problems he face, and yet that isn't good enough. I'm not in favor of keeping coach D or jethro, but with added depth I'll give them another year. I just think it's absurd to see this fan base turn on coach as quickly as they did. It went from flying a banner against Wake, to fire him two weeks later.

That's why they're Tennessee. If you want attendance smack; if you want who has the gayest fight song in the SEC smack; if you want who has the corniest traditions smack, then I suggest you take your show back to duh SEC. This Miami.
ROUND OF APPLAUSE.
These current University of AcadeMiami students don't go to the same school most of us did/rooted for. They go to this anti-inner city pretend Ivy League school where they think 9 wins is fun from a philosophical method and then work hard to develop the cure to the acne that got them turned down by every chick in their life.
the U is dead, and none of those ****ing nerds have a clue.

Terrible post all around, OP.
First you say people would have expected major scholarship reductions and a bowl ban for this season. Well guess what? That didn't happen. We didn't get major scholarships and we didn't miss a meaningful bowl game. We got a slap on the wrist scholarship-wise and the self-imposed bowl bans were for 6 and 7 win teams. We would've been playing in the Who-Gives-A-**** Bowl.
You say Golden cleaned the program up in one season by getting rid of the dead weight and trouble makers. You mean the trouble makers like Eddie Johnson, Gabe Terry and Thomas Finnie? Or the dead weight like Gionni Paul and Danny Dillard? In case you didn't notice, those were all guys that Golden brought in. Why are you celebrating him kicking off players that he brought in like it's some accomplishment?
You're right. He has slowly built this program up. 3 years in and he still doesn't have enough talent to beat Duke or one of the worst VT teams in recent history. Maybe next year we'll have enough talent to beat Duke!
As far as losing his best position coaches, that happens all around the country. Look how FSU got gutted before this season and what they were able to accomplish this season. They lost **** near their entire coaching staff and just won the BCS.
Duke may have been our best offensive player, but with or without him our defense still gets raped and we lose to VT and Duke (god**** Duke). As far as our poor RB by committee behind Duke, whose fault is it that the best we have behind him is Dallas Crawford and Gus Edwards? Whose responsibility is it to stock the cupboards with talent? Miami is located right in the middle of the most fertile recruiting ground for skill players and the best we can do is a converted DB and a glorified fullback behind our number 1 RB?
The defensive problems may be helped by added talent, but that talent will be true freshmen so we'll still have mental mistakes and players physically wear down over the season. Not to mention our scheme is extremely easy to prepare for and exploit by any OC worth a ****.
Also, PSU isn't gonna hire Golden because even they realize they can do better than a coach whose record is 1-12 versus teams with 8+ wins. His own alma mater thinks they can do better than that Penn Stater. How sad is it that his own school doesn't want him back?
Hey OP, if you want to know if we have a good coach go ask an FSU or UF fan if they wanted Golden to leave or stay and that should tell you all you need to know about the quality of our "coach."

Look, its his defensive scheme. Its giving up all dem yards and not making one adjustment. And then not firing his butt buddy. And then giving us the hope that he's leaving only to get turned down and return to us.
******'s got to go.

Guys I go to school there and I grew up in this community and I know how all of you feel. I consider myself one of the biggest Canes fans period! But to be honest, the school is really diverse with students from all over the work, and the passion for football isn't strong. 9 wins is acceptable and I struggle trying to convince other students that as fans and students we should demand more. I got attacked by my friends for criticizing Golden after the Duke loss. I literally snapped because not all of them combined love this place more than I do! Unfortunately that is just the way it is. They follow the status quo. Very few question or rather, they accept mediocrity.

Look I want Coach D gone just as much as the next guy, but if we lost Golden this program would be into reverse big time.

But this has always been the case. Just when the team was winning titles or playing for them year in and year out it was overlooked. Now that the stadium is off-campus and we aren't playing for titles it is being exposed. Labeling people like me, a wanna-be fan.

Lol I think most of us want this **** reversed!
