What would you guys like to see us add or change. Ideas can be about anything, whether that is how we cover a topic or a technical function of the website.

I know you guys are short staffed with limited access to players, but more current player interviews would be nice. Or maybe you can set something up wherein a current commit/recruit writes about the recruiting process so we, as fans, can get an inside look how recruiting is from the inside.


Just a few thoughts.

Since we are just a Canes site we have to be careful with something like this. Basically we can interview recruits but we can't come off as trying to convince them to come to Miami or else it violates some NCAA rules. I like the idea but we need to do more research on it and of course find someone that would want to do it.

Don't know if this is possible but if there is a way to link the Roster Bios to any existing forum links. For example if i start a discussion about Sentreal it would appear as a link on his bio page. If anyone wanted to find out info about Sentreal, the would click on Roster, then his bio and all current links would be located there.

​We don't have a mechanism in place that would auto add the link with his name to the section id set to show up in his profile. That being said, I really like this idea and wil work on it. No promises.

Just like to compliment those responsible for this fine site.
On some occasions it starts to resemble the Scout free board but generally very interesting and informative.
I would like to be able to identify the real insider info and posters without having to read every post.

This is a good idea and we will see what we can come up with. I don't think the rep system does a good job at identifying this.

I use the roster on canessport during games simply because canessport's team roster has tabs that allow me to select alphabetical or numerical. Often times I need both. It would be nice to not have to visit an inferior Canes site just for basic information.

Ideally I would like to have a database with an active roster and profiles but since we can't even keep the recruiting database updated I doubt we could keep this one. I can look at adding one that is sortable that links to the UM profiles. Once we have a profile for every player (from recruiting) I can make a page that only shows players that are active on the roster and links to our profiles.

I notice the site crashes a lot during periods of high-volume. What if we brought in someone that knew about the internet and computers that could oversee this kind of stuff and make sure the message board doesn't crash?

We hired to best person vBulletin has on servers to look at our server configs and vBulletin setup. We made changes to php and mysql and have seen dramatic improvements in performance. We are caching several million queries a day, as well as PHP. Once we have a big announcement with apprx 2,000 users online we can then check the performance and then make a decision on a different server as necessary. Currently the server running CIS is about 8 times more powerful then the one running the WEZ.

Not sure how you would address this, but I like to see a new thread started any time there is legitimate new information on a topic that has already been addressed. That way I don't always have to read through 20 pages of bull**** and name calling to find the news (particularly around signing day, etc..., when things get heated, or over a long period of time following one recruit).
Perhaps we create a mechanism that allows an user to sort a thread by likes, thus showing the most liked post first, which should contain the best info?

There are some posters who prefer to just keep it to a single thread (totally understandable). Is there a way to tabulate the threads? If new news is merely placed in an edited original post, then I don't no were the discussion on that info starts.

Maybe a forum with recruits pinned so we don't have to go digging for threads concerning them. When a new recruit with legit interest comes up a new thread is pinned and info is gathered there.

Recruits have profiles which contains news written by our writers on them. We will look at having threads about them added to their profile as well.

If someone can write something up we can make this happen. We can't copy from other sites or else they will send us hate mail.

I fixed the main image in the image rotator and the images in the articles underneath to crop when needed to keep correct aspect ratio. This issue should be resolved on the full site but I still need to apply the fixed to the mobile site.

Site's great, BUT stop reminding me there's an app for this site. If I didn't click OK the first 4500 times, not going to do it on the 4501st time.

What device is this happening on? If your on the phone and using the mobile site you should not get this.

I believe its been mentioned before, but having the Username, post count and last visited in the top left would be a nice addition.

I would like too if I could find the room at the top and a way to make it look good. Our logo is so long which is the biggest part of the problem.

Only thing with this is there are so many supposed know-it-alls on here and sensitive people. They fall in love with that stupid negged crap and neg for no reason. I am all for cutting out the BS too. But there's got to be a right way to do it. For people like me who can't be on here 20 hrs a day, we miss some posts. When we make a comment that others don't like, we get negged 20 times for the same thing. This is supposed to be a board of CANES talk, not like/dislike your favorite posters. Just my .02
