What is a realistic prediction for this defense?

I think the defense will do very well. Unfortunately, I think the scheme and defensive coaching staff is going to get their *** kicked again for about 500 years a game.

No better than the last 3 seasons. That is realistic.

Play ten yards off recievers on 3rd and 5, and it doesn't matter what year you are in, you lose, badly, everytime.

If we have top 40-50 defense we'll win 10 games so hopefully that happens.

We are not going to win double digit games if our defense is in the 40s.

Auburn played in the national championship with the 47th ranked scoring defense last year and their schedule strength ***** all over ours. So, it is very possible to win 10 games with our schedule and be in the 40's.

From D'Onofrio's Bio:

"In 2011, D'Onofrio's defense finished the season ranked ninth in the nation in red zone defense and 21st in scoring defense, holding opponents to an average of 20.08 points per game. The Canes' defense held foes to seven points below scoring average on the season, while holding Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Florida State and South Florida to a combined 22 points below scoring average. The defense, under D'Onofrio's guidance, finished strong and proved stingy, giving up an average of only 13.5 points in the last five games of the season."

And with suspensions to top. Most ppl forget this and his Temple defense.

When he has the horses, he does well. Question is, does he have the horses?

in 2011…our defense had a whopping 6 INT's…that's mind-boggling how that can happen. To put that in perspective, there were 12 players in the country with more INT's than our team.

Subtract 10 spots for each of these players and you have your ranking.
Highsmith -10
Cornelius - 10
Rodgers - 10
Robinson - 10
Green - 10
Gaines -10

By my calculations we should go from the 80s to top 20
