What if Ray Lewis iii had a different last name?

I don't see how having Ray Lewis around the program more is more valuable than the value we'd gain by replacing RL3's scholarship with a better player. A good chunk of our fanbase is letting their emotions control their judgment and rationality.

Ray Lewis will be retiring soon and have a lot of time on his hands. You don't see how having one of the greatest NFL LBs around the program can be extremely valuable? Especially for a team who's LBs have not played well for many many years now? I understand that we need and want as many regular scholie players as possible, but there's no guarantee that scholie would be used on a starter anyways. Some guys don't pan out. But we still need core special teamers. Plus, maybe Golden could talk with Ray and say his son has a scholie for now but if UM gets hit with sanctions and scholies are lost then maybe Ray could step in and help out by paying his son's way. Doesn't hurt to ask.

So is Ray gonna be an assistant for us now? If so then I'm all for this move, but you're implying that Ray will just be "around the program" and this will inherently make our LBs better. What specifically is Ray gonna do as an alum and father that is gonna help us win? I'm legitimately curious because a lot of people are pushing that agenda without actually being specific about Ray's future role.

This is 100% true.

Does anyone have a link or video recapping Lake Mary Prep last game?

This thread is 100% troll stupidity, and wtf at the folks playing along.

None a y'all even know if the kid will get a scholarship.

If he does, none a y'all know AG's thinking on the topic.

Meanwhile, he's having a great season, so the OP seems highly suspect. Per Rivals:

Game Statistics: 23 carries, 132 yards, 2 TDs; 1 pass TD; 2 defensive INTs
Season Statistics: 37 carries, 435 yards (11.7 yards per carry), 7 TDs; 1 pass TD; 3 receptions, 89 yards, 1 TD; 17 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 INTs, FR for TD; 82-yard KR for TD

Oh, and his dad isnt one of the best Lbs in history. He's the best defensive player ever, period.

And since he's likely to retire right when his son goes to college, i wouldnt be surprised at all if he was around a lot. Even maybe as a GA.

Golden needs to make a deal with Ray Lewis when he retires next year to become are LB coach/ strength coach/ motivational speaker for giving his son a free ride...

He did nothing at the Rover position other than picking off passes, sacking QBs, and making tackles.

A.J. Highsmith... thats all he will be... He will see playing time at Miami only in his Senior year... BUT i am hoping his work ethic can make him better... we will see... Ray Lewis Sr was said not to be highly recruited.... So we will see

AJ Highsmith was a more talented recruit with better film and physical ability. He wasn't quite Miami caliber but he was easily D1 caliber. Ray Lewis III is neither. He has 0 D1 offers, in fact I don't think he has a single offer from anywhere (D2 or worse) other than Miami. Any argument that states or implies that he will contribute the value of his scholarship at Miami should be ignored.

And yes, the kid does have a scholarship offer. How is that in question?

Saw in the Orlando Sentinel today that Sams has rushed for almost 300 yards more than Ray thus far and as I understand it, Ray gets the ball later in the game. Im sure they are reading this and will correct that for next game! If Ray is such a great catch for Miami why did they not even come to one of his games last year. They have never seen him in person. As to him going somewhere else, it would have been a smart move for him as he will have to perform at a high level at the U where he could have gone else where and not had such expectations. Ray Jr has 4 other kids...do they all get schollies?

Would there even be a point in low d1 schools going after him with an early Miami commitment
