I will give him credit for building up the O-line and the running game, it is solid and I can see the philosophy behind it and actually have seen the development and a plan that was implemented and well on its way to being considered successful. Grade: A

I have not seen any semblance of the development of a QB, maybe that will change with Luke Nickel but so far I have not seen a QB that he has brought in as a normal recruit. You get credit for waiting around and having Cam Ward forego the draft but if that had not happened this would have been an atrocious season that would have seen Mario possibly being shown the door as I highly doubt that Poffenbarger or Williams (aka Park Statue) would have achieved more than 4 wins. Grade: D

Wide receivers, Jacolby George still does the same things during a game that make you want to scream and I don't think Mario recruited him. Sam Brown underachieved, Horton was coming along and now he is gone. Portal recruiting hopefully saves the day. Restrepo was another player here when you got here. Grade: C

Tight Ends, lots of talent coming through the door and it seems to make sense and there is a plan to the approach and it is being executed. Right next to the O-Line so Mario seems to understand what goes on with TE's. Grade: A-

D-Line, I have never seen a single unit regress during a season, until now. Was it the additions thru the portal or just terrible coaching? Was it paying players and they have no desire because they get fat and lazy? Who knows but anyone even remotely familiar with Canes football knows that our D-Line is what made this program great, these players are the least achieving of all the bad D-Lines over the past 20 years. Grade: F

Lber's and DB's, just really bad, getting tired of typing the same crap, our DB's had no clue who to cover, it was mesmerizing to watch, either they are the dumbest players on the planet or the coaching was the worst ever, who doesn't know that when a player goes in motion that both DB's covering 2 receivers in front of them shouldn't both go with the receiver in motion??? Grade; F

Haven't seen a complete plan developed and we played our 3rd season with this coach, don't know his philosophy for building a team and he is as bad on gameday as I have ever seen since I walked out on Butch coaching against WVU in the OB one Saturday. Not sure Mario is very intelligent, he works hard for sure but breaking rocks with a sledgehammer after dynamite has already been invented seems to be where we are at right now, sorry to say.

He won 5 games, then 7 games, then 10 games.

Let’s see what happens in 2025.
Big ******* deal. Manny won 9 games at Duke and his winning % at UM is slightly better than Mario's lol. Dillingham won 11 games at ASU in his 2nd year as a HC! Cignetti won 11 games and went to the CFP his first year at Indiana, a school that had never even won 10 games in a year. Nearly everyone on this board said we should win at least 10 games this year and Mario barely met that goal

Garnered an army of loyalists that don't give af about the results because they enjoy the journey.
It’s so funny when people can only point to 10 wins as the reason he’s done well here.

Well guess what - if someone opens a restaurant with no help and revenue is dog**** for 15 years cyphering in new chef after new chef… then all of a sudden he hits the lotto with unprecedented financial backing, buys a new chef the finest ingredients to cook with…spends a ton of money on advertising as a new, state of the art place…and the food is minimally better than before…well are you really any better? Or is it just the actual spending that’s the difference?

But there will always be 15-20 diehards of the place, because they can’t accept reality that the owner is still inadequate.

Counter points.

At QB his 1st recruiting class he had a late start and dint have time to bring a top QB. His 2nd class we missed on an HS but got Cam. Our 3rd class he got his guy in Nickel but he’s a freshman.

RB’s have been great.

WR I don’t see the complaints here. Jojo, Ny, Moore, Chance, Toney, Upshaw

TE’s look great.

We’ve brought in a lot of dudes the last 2 classes at LB and DLine. They’re young and coaching was a mess last year all over on D. Our secondary is still a big ?.

But overall what he’s done has brought in the most talented recruiting classes in our conference the last few years. And we’ve consistently won more games each year. Now we need to figure out the coaching aspect, let these guys develop. And this year hopefully figure out the QB as we look to bridge for Nickel so we don’t take a big step back

Went to the game versus Newcastle the other day. At this point, I am emotionless with my teams. All the passion has been sucked out of me.
lol I completely understand being an AC Milan fan. I was at the San Siro a couple of weeks ago for their 125th anniversary and of course they didn’t win and now they replaced the manager this week.
