What Coaches are getting FIRED today??????

Been waiting for Day for weeks, not playing him is inexcusable. I also couldn't believe they oulled Pruitt after immediately making a huge play.
people on here dont think Day is good because of stars. That kid flys down the field. Give him a chance. He and Pruitt have a knack for making plays. Popo is another one, plays sideline to sideline and you take him out for Kiko the terrible. Marley cook plays over Justin Scott? are we serious?

He hires guys he wants on staff as position coaches, who have incompatible coaching scheme philosophies to the guys he subsequently hires to supervise them and have them implement schemes they don’t agree with. It’s dysfunctional. It’s why teams with inferior talent drag us. Their staffs are unified philosophically and working together.

Every team and their offense went nuts against Guidry’s defense this year,

I can only imagine how much opposing OC’s jerked off preparing for the Miami defense in 2024

I think it's more about continuity with him and his vision vs continuity with each other.

Where i struggle with Mario is him not bringing anything to the team schematically. I always prefer a coach who does....preferably offense in today's high scoring QB-centric game, but even D would be ok. So when Mario doesn't provide that, and OCs/DCs leaving at the first sign of success, he's probably trying to hedge by bringing in guys loyal to him and his vision.....which can lead to issues as a unit. There's pros and cons to both theories.
Good point. Unfortunately, we’ve seen/experienced more of the cons than the pros to this point. Vision should be winning; year-to-year and simply being able to adapt year in, year out.

Ok. What this have to do with argument I was responding to?
Simply showed that other coaches (ie, Manny) was fired with a similar record after 3 seasons. AND Mario has not built a respectable defensive staff after 3 years ... every team puts up record numbers against this unit and Mario has done nothing about it. Falls on him.

Ok. Again I was responding to an argument that we should fire Mario cause he won 10 games when we shoulda won 12 because of how awful the defense was. Fire the Defensive Coordinator (and other coaches on the defense). That's well and good. Firing a coach in year 3 after winning 10 games and losing 2 on the road by 9 total points is crazy.

Who cares that their aggregate records are similar? Manny went 7-5 in his third year and the season was over before the end of September. That's why he was fired, and it was the correct decision.

I edited the post but you’d already responded. I’ve been hard on Mario this year especially after GT because I could see all the issues early being covered up by a bad schedule / Cam. I’ve also been hard on him about his hiring process. It’s beyond obvious he overthinks **** when it comes to making decisions. Which has been his rep prior to arriving here. There’s no defending him at this point. From in game to making hires. He keeps getting passes and mulligans for the bad deacons because he’s a Miami guy. That’s been obvious with every new narrative that comes out defending him. It’s just an uncomfortable truth at this point.
What’s the alternative? Is it a coincidence the Mas Bros started putting money up and others or would that be continued if it were anyone but Mario?

The last thing you want to do right now if you're Miami, is make staff changes before the playoffs selection is locked in. Just like that Jordan Travis injury with FSU last year, we can't give them any personal reason to leave us out.
This reply is hilarious to me. Not because of the content - I agree - Because it’s the first comment on a post calling for the HC and DC to get canned while we are still legitimately in the hunt for the playoffs. The hyperbole amongst football fans, college in particular, is ridiculous.

Diaz made a change before the end of the season and relieved his DC of duties. Does Diaz have bigger stones that Mario? I actually think it slightly helps our playoff case to announce Jason Taylor or D-Nich taking over DC duties for post season. Playoff committee looking at our current defense and saying “Zero chance they are competitive as-is.” A new DC at least is a variable where they might say, “It can’t possibly be worse so maybe the new DC can pull a rabbit out of a hat.”

To best pander to the selection comittee, Mario should hire a defensive guy with name recognition as "senior defensive analyst" today. If we are lucky enough to make the playoffs, then announce that guy will call the defense the rest of the year. We wouldn't be seen as being in disarray cause we fired our DC, and some rubes might think the defense will actually play better in the playoffs. Absolutely absurd situation, but embrace it lol. I don't want anyone who was a part of our defensive cluster**** calling anything the rest of the year.

Eddy O is right there. You know that guy would love to make a splash in the playoffs.

Mario? If not, why not. Guidry??? If not, why not?
Mario is mot getting fired...if you need to know why then I don't know what to tell you.
(Reguardless if you think he deserves it or not let's live in really)
staff changes I would be surprised if they happened before the season officially ends.
That's just how they seem to like to handle that type of thing. JMO

We had no de’s left by the end of the season in 23 and was using DT’s in five techniques to have bodies. Yet we performed better . This DL group was built up so much by us fans and the media in the offseason then they completely crap the bed. One of these biggest disappointment’s of my Cane fandom. There was issues in that room all year and it was obvious even if you don’t know the inner workings.
Cribby just one question on that. Did the issues start this year? Or did they start last year and have been growing over time? Did something change in the room?
I ask because obviously we had a better result last year and it's basically the same coaches minus one.

He does wayyy overthink things. He’d probably have better success just scrolling top whatever defenses and offering someone without interviewing.

Under Manny, Richt, Golden, Shannon, Coker…it was all down to the head man. They all got replaced, because accountability falls on them…as it does for every HC in any sport.

Only Mario gets a pass and our “fans” deflect blame to anyone else, because he’s Mario and our homegrown savior. And it’s not everyone as most have come to the proper realization as to who he is, it’s just the same 15-20 posters that won’t get off his jock and come up with countless excuses.

And I’m ready to get the @‘s out every time they post now, because I’m done sitting in the shadows while they continuously move goal posts.
Man....the fans here that "deflect" blame are not the ones with the ability to fire anyone.
That is unless the University President posts here or the AD.
I enjoy your post, but I think you have a very warped idea of what the poster on the site can actually do and wjat they are responsible for. That goes for posters that want someone fired or the ones that deflect blame.
At the end of the day, this is just a site for fans to share opinions and find information...that's it.
