What can we expect from Joseph Yearby in his freshman year?

Whoever said Yearby looks faster because he doesn't lose speed when he changes direction is on the money. He is one of those guys that epitomizes football speed. He will likely get run down by CBs in the open field but he is one of those guys that just plays fast. That's what happens when you get someone as athletic as he is that has his balance and vision. He just needs to bulk up to withstand the college game so the arm tackles don't slow him down but his speed and cutting should actually improve with lower body strength, which is kinda scary. His potential is way the **** up there (industry term)

In their Soph-Senior years in HS, Yearby had 172 more carries than Duke, and 199 more yards. He had a full seasons worth of carries more than Duke, and only had 200 more yards.

Yearby is very good, and I really hope I'm wrong - but Cooper was compared to Reggie Bush when he first got here.

IMO Yearby has some similarities to Duke, McCoy, Dunn - but he's not the same level as those players. I think the Freeman and Bernard comparisons, who were both very good players, are more accurate. After this season I'd expect 700-800 yards a year, which is what Cooper gave us.

It's an insult to Yearby to compare him to Cooper.Cooper was Crawford last season,Yearby can do things Cooper can only dream he could.

Have to disagree.

Cooper was good. But Cooper never lived up to his hype.

But Yearby is better. Yearby can be great.

Yearby IMO, is like a former nole who was great, I know I know it's a nole. But, Warrick Dunn. Yearby can be like that. Dunn was a stud, nole or not and in the nfl.

And I'm thinking for Yearby freshman numbers.

500-600 rush yards
6 rush TDs
100-200 rec yards
1-2 rec TDs
As I recall, Warrick Dunn was incredibly fast.

From the brief highlights I've seen of Yearby, Shady McCoy is a better pro comparison.

I don't remember Dunn being very fast, remember him having good not great speed. But great feet, great balance and great patience and vision and most of all great hands. Which is what I see in Yearby.

Yearby is not as good as Duke, period. You are just plain wrong if that is what you think. Duke is the most talented back on our team, better than Chocolate and Yearby, without a doubt.
I'm predicting Duke will get 3x the amount of yards as Yearby this year, and have a hoc above 6. He's just special.

This I agree with. Yearby and Choc are very talented indeed. But I went in depth on this a long time ago too. Duke is special, very rare player.

According to Wiki ran the 100m in 10.3 seconds.

Ran the 40 in 4.28.

Dunn didn't seem to be a guy who ran 4.3 and under. I remember knocks on him were he was undersized and didn't have great speed, but had great vision, balance, and especially great hands. At least that's what I remember from Dunn in the league and briefly from FSU.

And guys comparing Yearby to Duke. I just don't see it. Very different in style. Only thing I see is same size, which by the way, Yearby more filled out than Duke was coming in.

Yearby could be like a Gio Bernard. But IMO and to quite some others, Yearby game very reminiscent of Dunn.

Bold prediction seeing as duke will get three times the carries.

Not only is he a rare player, but seems like an incredible person as well. Have never met the guy, but seems humble, respectful and quality through and through.

Hope he absolutely kills it this year for himself, the team and of course us fans.
