What’s your biggest concern with this team?

The game stunk.

We were supposed to beat our most hated rivals by 40+ points. We played a 1-6 FSU team like they were a legit ACC contender & it's all because we have some stupid quota that we're trying to fulfill to give a certain someone their pound of flesh.

It was the worst game we've played this season because it was the only game we've played where we didn't outright try to kill our opponent & we were supposed to.

But it's the exact kinda game that our fans love. Boring, low scoring, jam-packed with Field goals.

Against a better team, that gameplan is not gonna work.
Nobody liked that gameplan and you know that.

Sometimes I have to remember most people on here have about 2% knowledge of football as a whole, and are fans seeing the game as fans.

Enjoy the win, we’re freaking 8-0…but man if you weren’t even mildly concerned watching this OL pass block and our receivers fail to get separation…yeesh.

Kudos to Mario for going for it repeatedly on 4th and 1, I actually loved it.

That was the second-worst offense we’ll face all season. Next week will be the worst. Hopefully the defense can build on it and our pass rush can finish pressures a bit more.
I couldn’t believe how bad the OL looked.

They didn’t do anything at all that they haven't been doing the first 6 weeks of the season.

TD's turned to FG's because we played with no Tempo/pace & the rhythm of the passing offense was off, because we too busy trying to pound it into the ground.

The OL was getting beat quite often on passing downs because downs were made obvious. When the Defense knows what you're going to do, it makes it easier to disrupt. We pretty much telegraphed every sequence of our passing plays because we had no choice on down & distance.

The only difference is, that due to the fact we made it clear what our intentions were, there was no unpredictability factor that would make their DB's drop back into Zone. The played Man, because they didn't need to play any other coverage.
I thought this board would be more enjoyable if we won football games. Boy, was I wrong on that one. Everything you say is correct. Good luck convincing these dudes.

The defense is not well coached, except for the defensive line, on occasion. Poor fundamentals game after game after game. Bad angles. Can’t wrap up. Lack of recognition and communication in the secondary. Misdirection works over and over and over again, unless the opposing offense ***** it up.

How many times do we have to see a running back or quarterback run right by an overly aggressive defender, just rushing up the field without any presence of where the ball is?

There was a play late in the game, where Wes blitzed and had a clear shot at the quarterback. Pocket was collapsing. The QB ducked his head, Wes left his feet, and flew right over the quarterback. Literally flipped himself over. It was dark comedy. There was no reason to jump. Just tackle the ************! Mesidor got the sack, I think.

This was not a ‘get right game’ for the defense. FSU has one of the worst offenses in college football. Duke will not be a ‘get right game’. They are almost as bad offensively as FSU. Even a poor defense should be able to hold both of those teams under 20 points unless they turned the ball over in their own territory.

And, yes, we’re 8-0.

Thank you Cam.

I don't know that, because there have been several people who have said the opposite, hence why I made my original statement.

If I didn't think that I wouldn't have said it. If I didn't have a reason to think that, I wouldn't even be engaging in this back & forth with the lot of you.

Idk if you all think I'm illiterate, but I can assure you I'm not.

I'll raise my hand.

Call me old fashioned, but I love beating our rivals by three touchdowns. I love watching the Noles lay down on the last Martinez TD because they're beaten to a pulp. I love dominant running games, because I've watched college football in January for the past 20 years.

This is not a perfect team. But that was a very encouraging and physically dominant performance that FSU will feel for the next month.
Found a man that loves field goal.

I don’t think it was about our gameplan. It was about the way FSU played us. They dared us to run by playing two safeties deep. We took that dare and bludgeoned them.

Personally, I think they were playing to not give up 50. They had no chance of winning.
I agree with this. They were trying to burn clock and not have a repeat of the Orange Bowl. They didn't have a gameplan to win. They were just trying to stay in it and not get embarrassed. We just manhandled them and wore them down. They couldn't match our physicality.

Part of the weird game atmosphere was that it was evident they didn't want to be there. Their fans barely talked about this game going into it. They wanted to quietly take the L and move on.

You threw out a broad generalization based on a few examples and you know that. Everyone knows it. You didn’t need to. You could have just stated your opinion because people respect it but you chose to take it a step further

You’re not dumb so don’t play dumb about it

I've got to be honest with you. I just now realized that you are serious about that. This whole time I thought it was some schtick you were doing for laughs.

Now that I know that I'll just say the following. I don't think you're illiterate nor does anyone here. It's possible that a few people may have said that they liked the fact that the RBs got involved more but you are still way overstating this boards supposed love affair with 3 yards and a cloud of dust. The vast majority here would have preferred for Cam to have thrown for 400 yards and 4 TDs while we beat fsu 63-10 and that's just a fact.

I also don't think this was some purposeful gameplan to slow the offense down so we could rack up more rushing yards and control the clock. We slowed it down out of necessity because FSU'S DL was blowing up our OL while FSUs DBs played very well and that's what I expected coming in to this game.

I'll put it like this...

If you pass the ball 15 plays in a row & then decide to run it, would expect for that run play to be a big gain? Now whatever your answer to that question is, just reverse the scenario.

Attempts don't equal rhythm. Rhythm is about when, where & why, not how many.

Again, the blame always goes on Cam for some odd reason, but all I ask, is this enough time to throw?

14 sacks over the 3 games & somehow he's still expected to be perfect, while also having to stay within a gameplan.

I mean, it probably won't be noticed until next year, but man some of yall just don't get it.
Holy ****, our interior oline block like the oline on ncaa 25, wow.. I used to think that **** was glitched up but it happens in real life, first clip, dude runs right by carpenter and he dont even blink, lmaoooo

I know you aren't illiterate as just the other day I was marveling at your work you wrote in Cuneiform.

Impressive!!

Agreed: we kick one less field goal and Cam hits on one of the deep balls for a TD & nobody is yapping as much.... Overall tackling & wrapping up tho is a different question... if we were causing turnovers & giving the offense more possessions would be one thing... but we aint.

Honestly seeing Kiko whiff on an open field tackle on a below average athletic QB… Kiko just can’t seem to be a reliable tackler. Splashy plays for sure be he just can’t be consistent with fundamentals
Its happened with multiple qb in row.. Kiko get cooked weekly by statue qbs.. its embarrassing

I thought we played like azzzzzz. Worst game of the year. Why can’t we contain a qb with legs. FSU does have a solid dline and 1-2 solid dbs but **** was so sloppy and uninspired. It’s boring but it felt like they have speed rushers who can’t defend the run but have us trouble in pp. if we earn the right to play Clemson, can’t be doing that ****
Worst game of the year? Uh except for the 4th quarter, Cal was waaaay worse lol.
