welcome to the u thread - Derrick Griffin

Lost in all of this excitement - what kind of sunshine level are we dealing with here? Looks pretty low. There is no happiness behind those eyes. No compassion. He looks like he's trying to decide how to kill the cameraman, and that he is already at peace with the fact that he's going to take his life after the photoshoot.

Solid get. Just don't put his cage next to Artie's.

His Twitter avi is disappointing.

Well, he's 6'6" 230lbs and still growing with hands so big only the most adept porno star wouldn't be intimidated.
Looks like he's going to be an absolute nightmare for anyone to cover unless there are some corners, safeties and lb's that can run like a deer and are 6'4" and up with long arms.
I'd keep this cat at wr and scare the crap out of anyone who would have to cover him.

"I actually committed yesterday," said Griffin, who was an Army All-American game participant. "I signed today."

Griffin said he first spoke with Hurricane coaches "about a week ago."

"They talked to me, asked if I would be interested," Griffin said.

I can't believe they let Baby Jesus get both Coley and Griffin....they must not know. The prophecy is coming quicker than I expected

@SBNationCFB Does this mean Miami has started cheating again already?

Sign and place kid. No way he gets admitted.

We thought the same about Lockley. He wasn't going to sign his LOI. All of sudden he does and if he gets the right SAT score he is in.

This kids grades are a hot mess. He's had several schools back off from him because of it.

The school who loses big-time kids at an alarming rate decides to sign him weeks after signing day. Why go through it if he doesn't have a shot?
Just saying don't get your hopes up. I've followed this kid a bit being out here in Texas and the talk has always been that he would never qualify at any school and would have to JUCO. Grades are that bad.
