Name a defensive player that Golden inherited that was good from Shannon. There legit isn't one..

Not sure what that has to do with this year's defense making the jump from 89 to at least top 15. There's no basis to expect that.

And Golden's only decent defense at UM was in 2011, when he had all of Shannon's defensive players.

I just wanna be able to have a decent football conversation on here without a ****ing full fledged internet battle over why golden is or isnt ****ty. Its ***n ridiculous at this point. Rok has literally made 3 threads in the last day all regarding the same ****ing thing, and each one has 5 pages of guys bashing the staff simply for the sake of bashing the staff. I want to be able to enjoy this once great forum again. Thats all.

If we won games we were supposed to, like Duke or VT last year, and not get our **** pushed in by good teams like FSU and Louisville you'll have your sunshine and rainbows back.

Top 15 would be overachieving, but I do think we have the TALENT for a top 25 defense next year and anything much below that would point to a problem with the defensive coaching.

I personally thought Mark D'Onofrio should have been replaced after last season, but I can understand that they wanted to hang on to key defensive recruits like Moten and Thomas if we changed coordinators right before signing day.

Still, I think Ed Orgeron would have made a **** of a defensive coordinator.
