we were due for one of these games

honestly what a dumb ******* narrative

the clock runs outside of 2 mins at end of half/game no matter what now

when you run the rock like we did tonight, the game speeds up dramatically and we had 3-4 less possessions than we normally do

add on Mario being super conservative, we absolutely dominated

still had 445 yards, 8/14 on 3rd down, 3/3 on 4th down, and 5.8 yards per rush

Sucks when this is considered "one of those games". Just because Cam didn't throw for 400 and 4 tds doesn't mean this team didn't impose it's will. If anything, it proves we can leverage a side of our offense when the other is off.

Defense plays lights out outside of 3 plays.
Exactly. They were all out to stop Cam, we dominated on the ground instead, as I predicted ( I predicted 42-13, with both Martinez and Fletcher having 100 yds, instead it was 36-14 with Martinez at 140+ and Fletcher at 71). But the grinding ground game also burns the clock, so we don't score as much.

If a recruit is 50/50 and decides to not come because we didn’t score 40, well then you can have him. Mental midget. We That means he doesn’t know what dominating football is all about. The only concern here for a Cane fan is the Heisman race. That’s literally the only thing that didn’t go right. We ran over them, stuffed their offense despite them going for it on 4th 7 times, no injuries and we covered the spread. You can’t tell me you would not have signed on that before the game.

i think you missing the point ... a win wasn't in doubt ... we wanted to embarrass these dudes and continue cam's heisman campaign in front of every recruit worth while ... we didn't do that, but instead soundly beat them ... two things can be true ... and quite frankly are true ... we threw a reverse pass to cam late in the game for a reason
You have to change the narrative to post here. All week it was ‘we are going to curb stop fsu”, to now “we found a way to win”. Hold up your end of the goalposts as we move them!

100 recruits don't show up to a game if they think it's a blowout. Rivalry games are funky as ****. Who the **** shows up to a game that they think it's going to be 60-7. Vegas thought it was 21 and we still covered that with a late garbage td. All those recruits have watched cam play all year. The whole nation has.

How ridiculous. We didn't just "find a way to win". We dominated the game, we just did it with the running game which ran down the clock so the final score was not quite as high.

respectfully ... no goal post moving here ... we beat them soundly ... i'm saying we didn't beat them fashionably or similar to how we've won the other 7 games this season ... two things can be true

The throw to Cam for the TD was for the Heisman race. That clip will come in handy later.

glad it happened tonight against a team that couldn't score
I'm not entirely surprised. FSU is 1-7 not because their defense is giving up record points and yardage. It's 1-7 only because it's offense is historically tepid, only scoring 15 points per game. That's 12 points lower than Miami's worst PF in the last twenty five seasons after eight games (2006 season). The defense had only given up more than 30 points once in the first seven games. The game went in similar fashion; they were stymied numerous times and could only score field goals.

Miami's total team composite ranking was .9003. Florida State's was .8942 - the highest of all of Miami's opponents this season.

We weren't as sharp offensively as we'd like, certainly not in the precision passing game, but our message was clear: You have no chance to win, so we're going to run over you. Don't make us exert ourselves too much please.

This game was never as close as it seemed.

FSU sat in 2 high all game and conceded the run. Or maybe they thought they could defend both…

They got destroyed.
Three FGs. If those are converted into TDs, we score 48. It wasn’t ugly and it wasn’t supermodel pretty, but it was pretty enough you’d bring her home to meet the parents. Which I’ll take at this point.
