We just lost a game

This is what has me feeling concerned long-term. It’s year 3, and we still have MAJOR talent problems.

And not to turn this into a recruiting discussion but the class we’re looking to finish with isn’t what he needs.

That's because way too many are Mario apologists.

This is not difficult. Mario as a HC is a net negative. He brings no value as an x's and o's guy. Say like a Smart, Sarkisian, Lanning, etc. Which means he needs elite coordinators and elite recruiting (top 5 classes) to ever have a shot of competing for NCs.

Well, we all know Dawson and Guidry are nowhere near elite. Dawson at best is slightly above average and Guidry is below average. Top 10 classes with that combo of coaches will NEVER allow you to win anything big. And Mario has only ever produced two top 5 recruiting classes, so that's not happening either.

At best, we are a 9-10 win team on our good years with Mario. Because QBs like Ward don't come around often to mask all the other problems.

This game isn’t on the D. If I told you that our D would hold them to a TD per quarter I’m sure you’d take it. Did they play like ***? Yeah but we should have all expected that. Our “Heisman” qb and the first half play calling is to blame. Cam missed check downs, scramble yards, and multiple wide open receivers all game. Oline struggled to pick up blitzes, and I swear to ******* god is Dawson calls another wr screen I’m gonna commit ritual sepukku.
Looking at the points isn’t the correct way to look at this. They scored 28 points while having the ball for most of the game while eating clock. Keeping our o off the field and limiting possessions. They played their game plan perfectly. They didn’t have many possessions but made every one count even if it ended in a punt a couple times.

I said 10-2 so there’s that
You sound like you’re proud to call this out.. **** you and your holier than thou bull****. Mr insider extraordinaire who’s been silent all year now decides to come out puffing your chest???

**** you bro.

Yea I’m angry at this performance… and I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling this way about your thoughts out of nowhere. Be proud, insider! Finally got your chance to **** on the team.

Why did my dad have to be one of the Cubans who tried to assimilate by watching football.

The tight pants wearing, ****atoo haired, loud, and loud Cubaton playing Cubans that live behind me couldn’t care less about this **** Miami team 😂

Lol, yeah man, you had it figured out from the beginning when we hired Mario. Never change CIS……people with no football knowledge who never played meaningful downs trying to insinuate they had it all figured it from the brining. Lol!!!!!!!!!!

If you can’t add anything reasonable, just stop posting! EXHIBIT 1,000,000,000!
I did

With our defense, all you can grade them on is did they get some stops. They did today. And we did nothing with it.

Ehhh two straight drives lead to scores…

GT scored on 4 plays for 7 and then drove for 10 mins straight for another 7. Nah Guidry gets to own this one like Mario had to own that knee debacle last year
Mario is the Head Coach , if we saw all these issues since early in the year why didn’t the HC? When the O has 10 points at the half and the d is being paper cut to death it’s on the HC. LG has been the whipping boy all year ( rightfully so)

Ohhhhhhhhhhh you talking truth!!!

Yes, but if you have #9 classes for 2 years and then one year where it’s 14, that’s plenty if the HC can coach. 14 consistently isn’t good, but almost any coach in the country can walk into the UM job and get at least the #14 class. Have actively sabotage yourself to consistently do worse.
Recruiting is by far the most important part of college football. With NIL and the portal, it's even moreso. I don't think you can just hire an Xs and Os (one side of the ball, to be clear) head coach and expect to be a top-15 program.

My preferred blueprint has been recruiters at every assistant position and HC, with Xs and Os guys as your coordinators.

I'm leaning even more heavily toward recruiters as coordinators as well. The best teams in the country have the best rosters, and it gets more glaring by the year.

Our DBs (and LBs, but it's not quite as bad) aren't good enough players, and it's a massive roster hole.

I said it and got crucified- UM would have been better off in the long run hiring Lashlee at HC and putting the extra 4-5 million a year it paid to Cristobal towards NIL. We didn’t need another “program builder” like Richt. Needed a competent Xs and Os HC that could get the most out of the roster, as long as he could recruit in the 9-14 ranked class range. Doesn’t matter if Cristobal lands the #5 class when they are going to be lazy and unfocused every week. It’s a brutal truth. Cristobal might build a good roster on paper, but to what end? At least with Xs and Os coach, there is a chance of winning games by outcoaching the opponent. Cristobal would be a great coach for a school like Bama that can buy the 2001 Canes roster. But UM has won more championships with guys like Erickson and Johnson than it did with guys like Butch Davis because innovators can still win without a perfect roster.

Cam made our wRs look much better than they are. Defense is cheeks. If Williams is the starter next year, this roster will struggle to make a bowl game. I don’t mind as much when we simply get beat by better teams like a Bama or even a Clemson. I just can’t tolerate losing to average teams due to a lack of preparation. Has happened all season but it finally caught up to us because Ward played poorly
The flaw with your argument is that nobody would have invested the money without Cristobal at the helm.

We'd still be bumping along at the bottom of the ACC as a poverty programme without Mario.

Aren’t you the same brain dead idiot that said I was overreacting after VT? Sit down and stfu. I can bump the thread for clueless *** if ya want
Your reaction is telling. No I wasn’t, but I’ll continue to hand you your *** if you want! You’re clueless, I’ve pointed it out before, and I’ll continue to do so……because I can! I told you to stick to recruiting info, and leave the football to those of us that played!

He's only had two classes - the class he tried to rescue after Diaz's mismanagement can't really be attributed to him. We'll see how this year's class finishes up in a month's time.

At the end of the day we're 9-1 in Year 3. It's not been pretty at times, but you are what your record says you are.

Dude- Diaz didn’t pass on quality DBs in the offseason. UM had the 3rd highest NIL. He had ample opportunity to plug the roster holes. Instead he paid for Sam Brown.

I’ve been hard on LG but this team was flat from the beginning . That’s on Mario. The defense was it’s same awful unit with no adjustments or changes.
I've lost all faith in Guidry. I really wanted him back this year too.

Not calling contain on 3rd and long against a running QB with a bum shoulder was a fireable offense.

They repeatedly got beat to the outside. He made no adjustment to force any anything inside. There's soooo many things he could've tried.

To a team that literally told you it was a run or pass by who the qb was lol. Did King even throw a pass over 10-15 yards ? I’ve seen better coaching from a pre wee coaching staff. Absolutely incredible to see “ professionals” allowing GT to paper cut them to death. This team has been playing with fire all year and it finally got burned. I guess we can charge this to my theory from when we hired Mario “ Mario will leave you scratching your head one time a year with his coaching”. Exhibit C.
We all knew it was coming. Just a matter of when.

Now the question becomes are we any different than previous years? Or is this the 1st loss in our yearly losing streak?

Bissainthe has been a big disappointment. A hyped up local recruit who looked like he was FINALLY breaking out as a Junior. He's disappeared in big moments this season.
