We just lost a game

The offense had a bad day - it sucks but it was bound to happen eventually. The difference is that I’m confident Cam/X will take this personal and make the offense learn/improve from this.

I have 0 confidence the defense will do the same since everyone’s been attacking us the same way and we don’t adjust - and that’s an indictment on Guidry

9-10 wins was my expectations before the season begin, but after week 1 I shifted the goal post. Smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

We shouldn’t have lost until at minimum the playoffs.

But as the season went on and I saw this defense I knew we had a regular season loss coming.

The defense was their usual crappy selves. The offense underperformed today.

We never seem to get better in complimentary football as each game happens every season. We make every game a struggle. We left 7 pts in a game our an takes sacks in the most crucial time of the game.

It takes generational talent to win big with a coach who isn’t a coordinator by trade. Dabo did it with generational QB’s, elite D lines and Elite coordinators. Coach O did it with generational talent as well. The closest you’ll ever get to disproving this point is Jim Harbaugh. But he’s called plays before and is capable of taking over a side of the ball when his assistants fail.

Mario will never win games for you but he’ll certainly lose them. He’s a sitting duck on game days.

I said it and got crucified- UM would have been better off in the long run hiring Lashlee at HC and putting the extra 4-5 million a year it paid to Cristobal towards NIL. We didn’t need another “program builder” like Richt. Needed a competent Xs and Os HC that could get the most out of the roster, as long as he could recruit in the 9-14 ranked class range. Doesn’t matter if Cristobal lands the #5 class when they are going to be lazy and unfocused every week. It’s a brutal truth. Cristobal might build a good roster on paper, but to what end? At least with Xs and Os coach, there is a chance of winning games by outcoaching the opponent. Cristobal would be a great coach for a school like Bama that can buy the 2001 Canes roster. But UM has won more championships with guys like Erickson and Johnson than it did with guys like Butch Davis because innovators can still win without a perfect roster.

Cam made our wRs look much better than they are. Defense is cheeks. If Williams is the starter next year, this roster will struggle to make a bowl game. I don’t mind as much when we simply get beat by better teams like a Bama or even a Clemson. I just can’t tolerate losing to average teams due to a lack of preparation. Has happened all season but it finally caught up to us because Ward played poorly
