I haven't watched Surtain live, but I'm not seeing the rare talent that Bartow is talking about. Samuels looks much better this year and there are emerging monsters in 2018.

It's a reason why I put Frierson at CB, and said Russel should be recruited. Allows us to load up on 3 elite CB's, with Frierson coming in kinda like Brian Edwards (pegged as CB but put where he fits based on need / competition). Also get 2 Safeties, with various playing styles, plus a possible Hybrid S/LB in Russel.

I think Samuel is the best pure cover corner in 2018...but I doubt the staff would take him OVER the bigger corner options. I really think we finish with a core CB group of Jobe/Ivey/Blades and give Samuel the opportunity. Won't hurt to have Sam Jr coming off the bench for Bandy as a Nickel, or both of them battling with Harley/Smith/Bruce in practice.

How many Dbs for the 2018 class? Seems to quite a few top notch prospects.

I don't see that 5 star level ability either. If his name was Pat Jackson he'd be a 3 star.

Did you see Frierson get obliterated trying to cover good WRs at Richt's first Paranos Camp? He got turned around like a dradel. His future is at Safety.
 
Jaiden Woodbey is a definsive back whos ranked top 40 in the country no matter what position out in cali begging for miami to croot him too

2018 defensive backs mixed with our 2017 class. i see no reason why we can be one if not the top defensive back group in the nation

At the American Heritage Combine back earlier this spring he was measured at 5-11 and 172. He ran a 4.72 40 at this combine.

I'd love to see the staff bring in this Russell kid. Let him play Special teams for a couple of years and if he grows into a LB'er than even better. Such a natural hitter. My only concern is if he's had any history of giving himself concussions lol. Crazy closing speed.

IDK though to recruit a kid right in the heart of USC/UCLA recruiting territory, especially when South Florida is so loaded this year. But when 247 #25 kid says Miami is their dream school, you start recruiting them either way.

Can you imagine the insane level of competition? That is exactly what our brand was built on. The cream always rises to the top my friend. This is what every coach in America not named Al Golden wants at every position group.
