NCAA enforcement staff says Miami is "grasping at straws" in effort to get case dismissed. Links upcoming. #itneverends

NCAA is "offended"by #Miami's claims, saying UM is "grasping at straws".CBS has obtained the 42-page document. Story coming

Bruce Feldman @BFeldmanCBS
NCAA: had it known of Paul Dee's "condition or impending death, staff would've exhausted all reasonable efforts" to get Dee's testimony.

Calling foul on one element of this NCAA response to Miami: Everyone knew Paul Dee was very ill. Everyone.

So if I put these two together, the NCAA and everyone knew he was very ill......but at the same time the NCAA didn't think he was in bad enough condition to exhaust all reasonable efforts?

Umm, OK?

That claim, and others, are part of the response that was signed by Jonathan F. Duncan, the NCAA's Interim Vice President of Enforcement, in response to a motion Miami filed with the association's Committee on Infractions to have the case brought to an immediate conclusion.

The Associated Press obtained a copy of the enforcement staff's response to that motion Sunday night.

"Overall, the enforcement staff believes that the institution is again grasping at straws in an attempt to disqualify members of the enforcement team with the most knowledge about the case," Duncan wrote.

In his response, Duncan wrote that the NCAA's enforcement staff "believes that the majority of the parties' assertions in their motions to dismiss are largely based on assumptions, false accusations, misleading statements and meritless claims."

This weekend, I obtained a copy - as has AP - of the NCAA's angry response to UM's motion to dismiss. I will post a story later.

They continue to step on their own peckers, they've been made to look like buffoon gangsters, they're embarrassed, and now they're mad because the proverbial crap is about to hit the rotating oscillator.

They spent two years - for basically NOTHING.

Heads have rolled, more will roll, lawsuits are hanging over their heads like Damocles Sword, and they're in a lose/lose situation. The organization just may be gutted - as should be.

They need their teeth pulled, and all at once.

When you focus on Nevin and self-corroboration then there is no need to interview others. Sorry I don't see a reason to interview Dee.

Don't like the way this is all setting up. They're cornered and will fight back with powerful delusion.

People kept telling me they had no way to continue this, but it doesn't seem to be stopping.

Why would they stop?
The folks on that side have nothing to lose.
It is not like they are running a family business or a large coporation where their livelihood is at stake.
Most if not all of these folks are career academicians who do stuff with other people's money.
Their attitude is that they are playing with house money, they have time and money on their side.
They couldn't care less if this runs for many years.
UM, on the other hand, can't have this run forever, and those thugs know it.

We have fans that still defend Randy. Hitler had some close ones in the fuhrer bunker. Good ole ed smith went down with the ship.

People dig their heels in all the time. Sometime folding is the best move for a reason.

"You can't win."

They have jobs at an organization that can be disbanded. Other employers may not find working at the NCAA so attractive especially if your name is Emmert. Everyone there is not rich, they better wake the fack up. The NCAA is not doing to well in case you havent heard.

You are really wrong.

Speaking of house money, you start playing blackjack with $50.00 through skill (and a ton of luck) you win 20 hands straight and are sitting in front of $2,000.00. Does that mean on the 21st hand if your dealt a 16, with dealer showing a 10, you double down? No, you can still keep the house money, you can still save face.
