Was 2017 the start of the Dark Ages for FSU?

@rokulika people on this site can't accept the truth. in their world, they complain there aren't enough minorities in certain jobs but when an AD specifically goes out and hires one as the first requirement and someone speaks the truth, posters get all bent out of shape. When I stated the same thing that is a FACT that you replied to and confirmed, a bunch of nitwits reported me for "racism." these hicks don't even know the definition of racism. In their world, me correctly stating that FSU hired a MINORITY coach gets me an infraction. The last ferrule of a scoundrel is to cry racism when you are losing an argument." Facists.

You’re the one that brought race into this.

There is no reliable evidence that your theory, and that’s all it is, is correct. Yet you state as if it’s a fact.

Is it so hard to believe that FSU hired him based on his perceived qualifications?

I mean he only came from one of the top and most rich P5 programs in the country.

Now personally, I think he’s not a good coach, but it has nothing to do with his race.

I feel sorry for you. You are poisoned in the mind.

I don't recall a question being asked in the OP. There is literally not one question that was asked. Great first post though!
In fairness tho, the thread title was def a question. That being said, we really need that no posts allowed until the new accounts post count hits 100.

It’s amazing how lacking in self awareness some folks can be.

Think about it.....It would work perfectly. It’d filter every single one the Dbags and trolls that pop up here every week.
So how would the post count ever get to 100 if they can't post until they get to 100?

Their post count would never get to 100, and therefore they would never post. And therefore, therefore would spare us the idiocy and lunacy that invariably spews from new accounts.

It’s really the only sensible thing to do at this point.

I like the way you think.

The dark ages for us were the '70's....even worse than Golden.

I was not around in those days, but obviously those are some real fans.

You guys kept this thing going, we would’ve never had a shot at the first championship if the program had not stayed alive during those difficult days... and you weren’t front runners, you were there for the love of the University and the program.

Waiting for my apology

Rok, I would hope that you are better/smarter than this.

Your argument is that Willie was hired because he was black. There is a big difference in targeting candidates of color and actually hiring one of those candidates, than just hiring a black person because he is black. FSU already had a black interim head coach in place, who happens to be a legend at FSU. If they wanted to just hire a black person, they could have just kept him in place, since he was already doing the job.

Willie was hired because they believed he was a great candidate and because he fit the diversity initiative of being a minority. AD's don't hire white golf and lacrosse coaches because they are white. They hire them because they are deemed qualified. The fact that their sports are 95% white, hiring a white coach is already justified in the court of public opinion. The only difference in the case with FSU targeting a person of color for their majority black football team, is the fact that the AD actually verbalized his thoughts.

To put it even simpler terms, job openings typically have two major categories....."Required" and "Preferred." Anything else is just jibberish. Willie's track record is what they deemed as meeting the Required portion of the job description, which is THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect of any job opening. Willie being a person of color is under the PREFERRED category, which is never as important as the skills that are actually required to do the job.

I hate F$U to my core, but for you to suggest that a black man was just throwing another black man a bone, is beyond degrading to an entire culture, it also suggest that a Black man can't possibly be good enough to get the job at FSU. FAMU? Maybe, but definitely not FSU.

This entire conversation began when jackoff71 made a racist "play on words" comment, mocking MLK and the black community by saying Willie was hired because of "the color of his skin and not the content of his character." And your defending that **** with pride, asking for a **** apology? **** dude, WTF!!!

reg,

My only point was to state that their previous AD was transparent about wanting to hire a non-white, and there were some who claimed that was false or could never be true. Their AD targeted Taggart in part because he's black and was up front about it.

No apologies will be forthcoming.

“Looking to hire” is just lip service and what is said to satisfy minority initiatives in interviewing candidates.

Most hiring concerns, whether in the educational or corporate world, say something similar in their personnel handbooks. It’s a PC talking point. Nothing more.

Tagfart was the guy they targeted, from the beginning, irrespective of his race. It’s retarded to say he was hired because he was black, which is what you were saying - take your apology and shove it.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I think Stan Wilcox and FSU were being sincere when they publicly expressed their desire to hire a minority HC. They were under no obligation to interview or hire a black HC, but hired one with a career losing record anyway. I'm pretty happy about it.
