Excellent FT shooting has been a welcome, consistent staple of Canes teams, going back to when Leonard Hamilton arrived.A couple positives are he's shooting 84% from the line and averaging 1.3 turnovers a game (Sure feels like 4 a game lol). He needs to get to the hoop more and draw fouls. We are 19th in the country in FT %. Get to the hoop and draw fouls.
The shared Big East championship we had 20 or so years ago featured a bunch of one and two point wins. We were regularly outscored from the field but won those games at the line.
If you have inferior talent, top rate FT shooting is a must; when you have talent, like now, it's still critical. Memphis liikely lost a couple NCs because they had way too many bricklayers on those teams when it came to FTs. Kudos to the coaches and players for the work they so obviously put in.
