VIDEO: Guidry explains 3-3-5 adjustment

Yall realize that the 3rd LB in the 3-3-5 is just a hybrid OLB/DE right?

Who's that guy?
This wasn't exactly the case in Guidry's 3-3-5 in 2023 when Flagg, Kiko, Cloyd were your starters. I don't agree that we've bene running a 3-3-5 this year with Baron or whoever as a 3rd LB just because he's standing up when the ball's snapped. The 3-3-5 stack alignment didn't seem to confuse the **** out of all 11 guys on the field when Guidry pulled oit out of his hat from one week to the next.

I wonder when people realize that it's the players who evidently don't film study and not the formation of the defense being the problem.

(amongst many other issues with this defense that have been pointed out at large)
It’s a combination of both m

Corey Flagg is the perfect example of a solid college LB, that brings something to the table, but got **** on by CIS because he isn't a perfect LB, and we could really use him this season.

He doesn't pass the eyeball test but he's the type that does everything right, studies film, gets the defense lined-up properly, etc.

I dont think we are either. I wasnt serious about Flagg but... He is having a good year at Missouri, cant deny that. He would probably be our best LB right now if still here which is pretty sad.

He had a solid season for us last year. He was 4th on tackles and he was what our number 3 or 4 linebacker.

so the entire defense doesnt study film? every single one of them?
Kam Kinchens said Guidry does an incredible job prepping the players for games and that everyone gets the answers to the test.

Evidently, the guys on this team don't watch the amount of film they're supposed to watch.

The alignment issue is hard to understand. Are we blind or struggle so with math that we can’t count? GT often had more blockers than we had defenders on runs to the perimeter. Doesn’t the new communication system allow for some pre-snap communication? Aren’t iPads or whatever now allowed on the sidelines for players/coaches to review plays? So, why can’t we adjust?
supposedly Kiko has the helmet communication on the field. I've heard that Meesh Powell is supposed to direct the back end.
Two experienced guys aren't helping at all..

lol i guess the entire defensive roster doesnt watch any film at all. come on man. you think kam is gonna trash his coaches publicly?

yep. He wasn't what the fan base dreamed of when they thought of linebacker. Just a solid, lunch pail kind of guy

Happy he's having a good year playing with his brother. He left his mark sealing the win vs Clemson

We are missing a lot of things with this defense but thats one of the biggest holes. Having someone to get everyone settled down, lined up right and in good position.

But this is CIS, where having a 92 speed rating in NCAA 24 is more important than anything Flagg brought to the table. Where there is no room for non-starter contributors and all backups should just transfer out because they are JAGs

then explain to me what the issue is. you honestly think these players prepare the right way for games?
