2025 Vernell "Trey" Brown III 4* WR from Orlando Evans [commits to UiF]

John Garcia predicts VB3 sticks with the Gator if/when Billy and the G5s are fired

Vernell Brown III, an in-state legacy prospect, worked his due diligence on the trail before picking Florida this summer and he hasn't wavered despite the constant rumors surrounding the future of Billy Napier's staff. Even as Florida readies for its toughest stretch of the 2024 season, the status of the pledge has yet to change. There haven't even been reports of potential trips to other programs, though many continue to push for the Orlando (Fla.) Jones star.
Should there be a program to keep an eye on, especially optically, of course Miami comes to mind after pushing for his commitment and finishing as a finalist back in the summer. His prep QB, Dereon Coleman, is committed to the program and is also an active recruiter, but it's going to take more than peer recruiting to flip the dynamic talent.
Rivals sources say even if/when there is a coaching change in town, there won't be a knee-jerk reaction from the senior.

Sometimes teams just get lucky with kids like this. Doesnt matter if you go 0-11 they still are not wavering. We have been lucky like this in the past (Duke Johnson comes to mind)..so cant hate on it one bit. It is what it is. As Mario famously says, "You want to be the 2nd choice in recruiting if your not the 1st choice with the transfer portal in play". (paraphrasing)..Kid like this wont sit around and throw his career away at UF if things are not going in the right direction after his 1st year or so..

Dmoney is partially to blame. He keeps mentioning Brown in the Bank.
That’s coming directly from coaches so that’s all he can do. I haven’t read any updates I’m just going off knowing the family. They’re very loyal to UF. Osu was the one I always thought could maybe pull it off. Although doubtful.

this tells you all you need to know. hes not coming barring some sort of miracle. unlike hanks, hes not even in South Florida and is in a heavy gator area of Orlando
I could be wrong here and that’s fine. I’ve always said Hanks was the more realistic option especially if UF screws up the sisters situation.

We gave it all we got here. Worked it from all angles. At this point it will take a massive UF implosion and even then I doubt it. Agreed on Hanks. Feeling better there

The Gaytors whole team could die in a bus fire after hitting a manure spreader on I-95 and Vernell be like "yeah, still 100% committed to Florida".
