USF [7pm]

I was at USF for the season Florida state came into town and everyone thought they had a decent chance, then dalvin cook broke a 80 yard run on the first play of the game and they were silent the rest of the game. We need that kinda opening

USF's OL looks pretty good. It'll be a good challenge for our D. Gotta hold up in the interior and get off blocks at the 2nd level. The degree we limit the run likely determines how long they hang around.

IMO, they can't beat us if they can't throw. Trying to play catch up vs Ward and co. does not look like something they're built for.

Miami should resent the fact they're called University of South Florida, when in fact they're located in West-Central Florida.

After we beat them by 4 TD's, they should be forced to change their name to the University of Tampa Bay.

IIRC they're called that because when they were founded they were the southernmost state university then FIU came along.
Some of you older guys may remember when FIU even contemplated changing its name to University of Florida at Miami.

I think this game will be just like the Cincy game in 2015... we are on our high horse and then get exposed by a G5 team... I hope I am wrong.
No one is on their high horse nor do they want to get embarrassed by USF. Mario will have the team ready to play. USF will provide more competition than who we’ve played so far and the players are very much looking forward to ratcheting things up a bit. :hair-fire::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu::neonu:

Exactly.

They were fine enough against Bama. But people are putting way too much into the whole “it was a close game late in the 4th.”

Bama lost 3 fumbles. At least 2 of the 3 probably would have been on scoring drives, with one being at the goal line.

Bama scores any of those possessions, it’s a two score game. USF would be forced to throw. And it would have snowballed from there.

Bama’s fumbles allowed USF to just keep running it.

I suppose bad turnover luck could happen to us too in this game. And if it does, it does. But you can’t project it, so can’t really factor it in to how the game should play out.

USF runs the ball well, and their QB runs well too, BUT, Bama had 3 key turnovers which is why it was close into the 4th quarter.

If the defense can hold them to 28 and under, our offense should be able to secure the win.

Getting turnovers will really help.
Bama dominated the entire game imo. USF did nothing to them, it was all about the style of ball that Bama wants to run (ball control), really bad fumbles by Bama and a few key missed tackles that will trick people into thinking the game was ever in doubt. If we conduct ourselves appropriately, I think we destroy USF.

Their run game definitely scares me. They played bama tough for all but 10 minutes.

They had 206 yards rushing on 46 carries.

That’s okay. But when put in the context of it being your entire offense, it’s not good.

If they run against us like they did on Bama, Miami wins by 3+ scores.

USF has a pretty good Offense, but their Defense & Secondary in particular are Butt sauce.

Ryan Williams is 14 years old & he had no problem getting open against their Corners.

Even Tiaquelin Mims for Southern Miss got over 120yds on USF. Our passing game & WR's will step on USF's Secondary.

All we have to worry about Defensively is stopping the run & keeping a spy on Byrum Brown.

Put Daryl Porter Jr on Sean Atkins in the Slot & force Byrum to beat us from the pocket.

Spot on. Their O becomes one dimensional if we can get them into obvious passing downs.

honestly with all the talk about USF playing Bama tough it was a surprise to actually watch some of the game and see that it was mostly close because bama played a horrendous game until the end. three lost fumbles and an avalanche of penalties will get you beat against **** near anyone, if we do that too then we can certainly lose. they’re leagues better than our last two opponents obviously, and we’ll get their best shot. but i didn’t see a ton to be scared of IF we play clean ball. stop the run, tackle well, don’t turn the ball over.
