I said Nunez wouldnt be hired because I didnt believe Miami would go that route. They wanted an experienced guy, who is aggressive. I dont see that here.

However, judging Nunez based on win-loss-records makes about as much sense as judging an AD on the GPAs the student athletes get. Its pointless. Especially at New Mexico, where losing is a daily routine in athletics. I dont know how he will do here.

So it looks like he took over as AD for New Mexico in 2017.
New Mexico went to their last bowl game in 2016 and had a 9-4 record that year. 2015 was 7-6 overall (5-3 in conf)

The following records were:
2017: 3-9 (1-7 in conf)
2018: 3-9 (1-7 in conf)
2019: 4-8 (0-8 in conf)
2020: 2-5 (all conf games due to covid)
2021: 3-9 (1-7 in conf)

Looks like he cares about football and turned their program in the right direction boys! We got ourselves a good one! I bet he fundraises great too!

IMO, anyone without a track record of success at a P5 school (specifically football and basketball) is a disappointment and not what we should be looking for.
