Up to #11 in AP, up to #10 in the Coaches poll

Ohio State and penn state should both be behind us but whatever, they play each other this weekend and it doesn't really matter either way

penn state's resume is already worse than ours, a loss to Ohio State should at least knock them down lower, but will keep Ohio State above us

PSU has beat a top 25 team & their opponent’s combined record is 25-30

OSU’s combined opponent record is 25-22

We haven’t played a top 25 opponent, & our opponent’s combined record is 28-32.

These r the only reason y they r ranked ahead of us, it will all be settled next week after PSU & OSU cannibalize themselves. Just go 1-0 & it’ll all work out.

Illinois is a ******* joke of a top 25 team. VT, Louisville, and UF would almost undoubtedly be favored on a neutral field. People got excited because they beat a ranked Kansas team by 6 that is now 2-6.

Ohio State has played two top 50 teams via FPI and SP+ and are 1-1. They looked like absolute **** against a mediocre Nebraska team at home yesterday. They have no business being ranked ahead of us. None.

One of these weeks I’ll stop arguing with the “just go 1-0 every week and it’ll be fine” crowd but god**** you guys makes it hard.

Ohio State is going to beat Penn State next week. But because they’re both top 4 teams, if Ohio State doesn’t absolutely blow them out it’ll just be a mulligan for Penn State, they’ll drop to like 6 or 7. Meanwhile y’all’s whole argument is as long as we don’t drop any games we’ll be fine because you know if we drop one we’re ****ed.

If the Canes take care of business the next couple of weeks, it will not matter. The B10 and SEC teams in the polls will all play each other and suffer losses. Meanwhile, the Canes need to get a few things fixed on defense and get the underclassmen ready to contribute, build some depth, continuity and confidence—and more importantly, continue to win and beat the teams that they are supposed to beat
I agree, but just saying it's kind of BS

Its crazy because I agree 100% with the above but you let the nerds pull up numbers and I think if the defense didnt look soo bad we could have argument for top 3 already.. We just havent put complete product on field for people to push us but I dont think the defense is up to task for that this season. Ill take it either way

I’ll take it but I think They are underrating Clemson and Pitt imo in these rankings. Really that’s how they doing the acc this year. Because there is a case for smu being a bit underrated. How is Missouri even still ranked?

Missouri is one of those those examples of why preseason polls are a joke. They’re only still ranked because they started so high.

We have beaten a bunch of good teams based on analytics and not results. Cal VT UF Louisville are all quality wins. Oregon has mostly ****** wins and one great win. Beyond that it's all bull****. Miami should be number 2, or 3 if you want to give UGA the nod for the clemson and Texas wins. We are being punished for the close wins and ref narrative being pushed by the national media. We need to look impressive over the next 4 games if we want eye test respect. We are and always will be under a microscope with much more stringent standards no matter what conference we are in.

We need to keep winning obviously but should be ranked 4th at worst right now. There shouldn't be a one loss team ahead of us except MAYBE UGA.
Oregon, UGA, PSU, Miami. We should be anywhere from 2-4.

Texas hasn't beaten anybody (I actually wouldn't be surprised if UF beats Texas in a few weeks.) and neither has Ohio State and they just got taken to the wire at home by Nebraska.

I've been saying all these rankings don't matter but they do matter for getting a 2nd or 3rd ACC team into the playoffs. The higher both Clemson/Miami/other ACC teams are ranked the better chance of getting more ACC teams into the playoffs. And that means more $$$$ for us until we get into a conference that pays more.

The ap has nothing to do with the cfp rankings tho
Except that the AP voters have decided to try and pretend that they’re the CFP committee now.

That’s how you have 2-loss teams ranked ahead of undefeated or one-loss teams. That’s new.

We are being punished because our D looks like absolute **** giving up major plays on national stage.. I dont think people realize the amount of eyes that have seen our games.. Its not that under microscope, that friday nite game, was primetime ONLY game on, not on thurs so even NFL guys were tweeting about it.. Late Cal game was literally only game on.. UL was national broadcast tv, not cable, not CW.. it makes a huge difference..

They're really ****ing on Indiana with this ****
They're undefeated & demolished Nebraska & ranked 13th. Suckeyes have already lost a game & needed a late TD for a comeback win vs Nebraska...but are still in the top 5. They're not even pretending to try to be fair now that their polls have lost clout with the expanded playoffs.

So no one watched Ohio State struggle against a very average Nebraska who just had their doors blown off the previous week? Or PSU eeking out win after win against average comp? We are being held to a diff standard.
