Up to #11 in AP, up to #10 in the Coaches poll

Which is baffling. UGA specifically should have dropped AT LEAST 1 (behind OSU) if not TWO spots.

Their win against Clemson took a hit yesterday.
Their win over Texas took a hit last week when Texas almost lost to Vandy.
Their "good loss" to Bama took 2 hits already with Bama losing twice after beating UGA.
And then they struggled with a UF team down to their 2nd and 3rd string QB also missing their best 2 offensive weapons. The same team that we blew out in their own stadium at full health.
You have put more thought and effort into this than the voters.

Many vote by talent. If they think UGA has more talent, then their one or two losses don't matter. Who cares if they struggle...they have talent. There is no logic to the voting, just feels.

Illinois is a ******* joke of a top 25 team. VT, Louisville, and UF would almost undoubtedly be favored on a neutral field. People got excited because they beat a ranked Kansas team by 6 that is now 2-6.

Ohio State has played two top 50 teams via FPI and SP+ and are 1-1. They looked like absolute **** against a mediocre Nebraska team at home yesterday. They have no business being ranked ahead of us. None.

One of these weeks I’ll stop arguing with the “just go 1-0 every week and it’ll be fine” crowd but god**** you guys makes it hard.

Ohio State is going to beat Penn State next week. But because they’re both top 4 teams, if Ohio State doesn’t absolutely blow them out it’ll just be a mulligan for Penn State, they’ll drop to like 6 or 7. Meanwhile y’all’s whole argument is as long as we don’t drop any games we’ll be fine because you know if we drop one we’re ****ed.

R u talking the same VT team that just blew another game, & a UF team that has Skittles for QB? Lmao. Bro, chill out Holmes; there’s zero reason to revise history to fit an argument. The reason Illinois was previously ranked Top 25 was b/c they beat a then Top 25 KU, Nebraska, & UofM. Now hindsight is 20/20, but they were the benefactors of a perceived strong schedule at the time of matchups.

Hence, why I’ve also preached to this board that we must also root for our former opponents due to perception. In my lifetime, I cannot remember a time from 1987-present that we haven’t played at least one Top 25 team on our schedule (actually just checked, & it’s never happened during this time frame, maybe some OG’s pre-1987 can recall that time).

Unfortunately, part of the voting is perception, & our perception right now is we haven’t played anyone, & fair or not that’s what it is. It also doesn’t help that we’re one of only 3 teams in the Top 25 (Miami, Indiana, & Army) that hasn’t played at least one Top 25 opponent. Have u seen how the voters have treated undefeated Indiana despite playing in the “perceived” better conference? Have u seen how the voters have treated undefeated Army?

Like we have to stop thinking everyone has an agenda or a bone to pick w/ us. We’re not Miami of the 80’s-early 2000’s anymore, & we just came off back to back dismal seasons; so of course we’re not going to get the benefit of the doubt w/ this schedule. We can’t control that, but we can control winning. And yes, if we falter against any opponent left in the regular season, we would be grossly penalized, just like IU & Army would be. The moment Navy lost to ND they kicked their *** immediately out of the Top 25 b/c Navy hadn’t played anyone either prior to.

So let’s stop worrying about the outside; we’re top 4, primed for an ACCCG spot, & CFP Final 12 spot. We control our own destiny; we can’t help how the schedule played out; ALTHOUGH, I was one of the 1st ninjas on this board that told everyone there’s zero excuses not to win at least 10 games this yr b/c I knew this schedule would be soft, just not Charmin soft, though.

Let's not overlook what all of this means. We know that we've shown enough to be ranked higher than 4 (probably two spots better), and even Oregon has looked anything but unbeatable (not that they've ever had an unbeatable team). Yeah we have some holes, but so does everybody else. Objectively speaking, we have every chance to take home the title this year...and we're good enough to do it. I'm starting to get the feeling that Cam won't let us lose...

We could be a team of destiny, but that would mean we're just at the midpoint with 7 - 8 games to go.

3 games to complete the regular season.

1 (possible) ACC Championship Game.

3 - 4 (possible) playoff games.

Forget rankings for now, because they won't mean much if we handle our business. We'll need to start by practicing as hard as we can and then finding a way to beat GT on Saturday. The second bye week would be welcomed from a physical and mental health standpoint.

Still a long way to go and the rankings will sort themselves out.

Beat GT!

Louisville snuck in at #25.

We just made it.
Now, Indiana and Penn State are the only teams in the top-10 that haven’t beaten a ranked opponent.

ND and Tennessee are the only teams in the top-10 to lose to unranked opponents.

I ain’t reading all that but so we’re clear a) this was posted a week ago b) VT just played that game without their two best players in Drones and Tuten and c) yes Florida, with Mertz or Lagway, would smack the **** out of that Illinois team that beat “top 25 KU”, you’re proving my point, people think of KU as a top 25 win but they’re a 2-6 team.

It’s not revisionist history to adjust your perception of wins as the year plays out and there are more data points.

Ur fault for not reading, so w/e u posted I promise it has nothing to do w/ what I said b/c u didn’t read. & I didn’t see ur reply or I would’ve replied sooner, as a FYI.

It’s going to be Really Really hard for any team not in the B10 or SEC to break 1 or 2. Every week they have thrusted a team from SEC 1 or 2 unjustly. Look at Georgia resume. It doesn’t look like a number 2 team. The Texas win was impressive, but Texas really hasn’t look THAT good. We would have to win every game by 3 scores to jump a SEC/B10 team. It’s BS

Yeah, I kinda think the CFP Committee made a secret promise to the Big 10 and SEC that their champions would be the 1 and 2 seeds.

indiana has Michigan this week - the only team they've played with a pulse all year

BYU has utah (albeit a bad Utah team but still)

Army plays North Texas (top 5 offense in college football)

slight chance that it could be us and Oregon as only two undefeated teams left after the weekend
Indiana and OSU in two or three weeks

Probably. But the ACC will always have the “schedule” cloud over it moving forward. We could have won every game by 21 and they would still keep us out of the top 2 because “we haven’t played anyone”. At least that holds with the AP poll because that’s a collective of 40 “writers”. We will see what the playoff committee decides, but I highly doubt they rank an ACC team 1/2, maybe ever.

Why was this thread started again? The CFP rankings will be completely different...

Whelp, the pollsters were waiting for this moment to come. Their wet dream came true.

I can live with it.

But, Notre Dame? 😂 Guess that loss to NIU at home isn't remembered anymore.

I hope the AP realizes their opinions mean **** at this point anyways

ND has a top 15 win in Texas A&M and also beat Louisville. We have also struggled in the majority of our conference wins. I can't see any argument for us to be ranked ahead of them.
