Up to #11 in AP, up to #10 in the Coaches poll

I’m no Oregon fan, but they really should be a unanimous #1 for this week.
Agreed they deserve it. But the fact that they are #1 shows anyone in the playoffs will have a real chance of winning it all, except maybe the G5 champion. Despite being #1 Oregon has certainly looked vulnerable at times this year. The playoffs are going to be very interesting.

I don't get why Georgia is getting so much love. They have looked VERY beatable in several games. Pollsters like to talk about how Miami has won close games, but 13-12 against Kentucky? The same Kentucky that got rolled by Florida? The same Florida we rolled?
No team looks dominant this year. Every team in the top 10 could beat any other and it wouldn't be a big shock. Will make for a wide open playoff

How do you suspect we fill those huge holes the rest of the season
Probably with offensive touchdowns.

Also, I’ve seen suggestions of less stunting and twisting on DL and more PT for some of the younger dudes who haven’t yet proven to be in over their heads.

But also… did we expect to be a legit top 5 team this year? Prolly not.

Assuming Clemson beats Loserville next week. I would not be surprised at all if the Cards win that one.

I wish the game was at Louisville. The Cardinals gave Norte Dame a really tough game at South Bend, so they could win in Clemson.

In all due respect, I think Cam and this Canes offense a score a lot more than 15 points against UGA or any other team on this list. The problem is that the Canes defense can anlso allow 40+ against any of these teams. Fortunately, given the schedule over the next 4-5 weeks, the Canes have an opportunity to get some of these defensive problems worked out.

agree, the next 2 games the defense has an easier offense to face. The one game that still bothers me is the Cal game. Virginia Tech been on a tear since and Louisville has some really good skill players but Cal offense has been pathetic all year round but they scored all over us

Sure. Nothing would surprise me this year in the ACC. But Clemson looks very solid in all three phases. Outside of South Carolina, I think they comfortably handle everyone on their schedule.

AP poll is getting cute and is trying to pretend it’s the playoff committee poll, imo.

I heard Mike Greenberg this morning arguing that Alabama with 2 losses should be ranked ahead of 7-0 Indiana because, on paper, Alabama would still beat Indiana. It’s like the Vanderbilt game never happened.

We’ve entered a strange, new, and very stupid era of college football where actual wins and losses don’t matter. It’s all about the “eye test,” how you feel about a team, and how they look “on paper.”

Basically, they’re trying to ruin the sport.

I think that is exactly what we are going to see moving forward with the portal chaos. It's going to be hard for one team to build a dynasty when players are constantly being poached.

This season is a good example of that with some of the top teams losing to what are historically bad teams. It has leveled the playing field.

Should be ahead of Ohio State
If the Canes take care of business the next couple of weeks, it will not matter. The B10 and SEC teams in the polls will all play each other and suffer losses. Meanwhile, the Canes need to get a few things fixed on defense and get the underclassmen ready to contribute, build some depth, continuity and confidence—and more importantly, continue to win and beat the teams that they are supposed to beat
