I get all the excitement over the new uni's... for the most part better than I expected. But I can't get all GEEKED about them when I think about the play on the field. I kind of feel like we should've waited on a total re-design-- waited until we were READY for primetime.

This whole event seems contrived and desperate attempt to "reinvigorate" the program and fan base... We get our asses stomped in Louisville week 1, the new uniform scheme enthusiasm will be a distant memory.

I know, I'm a hater and a wet-blanket... and I cant blame folks for having something to be excited about. I just wish I shared their enthusiasm-- and it was about our team not the laundry.

I totally disagree with this. The players are on scholarship. I doubt any of them would transfer if we created a decent uniform and I am sure no one is coming here because they are 18-19 year olds who quite frankly don't know sh*t about what looks good. People who write checks to the school and buy tickets are who matters. And I hate what I've seen so far.

Can anyone name a single player who said "I was going to go university of X but instead I went to Y because of their uniforms". Anyone?

I totally disagree with this. The players are on scholarship. Oh well, I guess I'm in the minority. Call me a crotchety old white guy, because I think they're the worst uniforms we've ever had. Tradition my ***. Nothing traditional about them. They look like cheap high school uniforms. If the recruits like them, I won't say another word. If it helps us win, fine, but they're ugly as ****.

Yep. The green jerseys need to be regular home jerseys. Let the Orange and Green Sleeve ones be the alternates. Those green jerseys are on some real cane sh*t. Storm troopers are boss, too. So happy to get rid of these current craptastic uniforms.

Nothing is worse than what we've been wearing the last 7-8 years. The bra strap , clown shoes and the awful stripe on legs.

I want to vomit. To me they look like every high school who bought off the shelf. Oh and did anyone notice the Nike asses brought back the clam with a flamingo head?

We need to wear the "traditional" helmets more often than not tho, IMO.

In that sense, I think some may underestimate the value of some of the combinations we may come to prefer.

& When it comes to the orange tops, the green stripes on the shoulder made all the difference (from the shopped pic posted earlier).

Reaction from a semi-traditionalist:

Overall much better than I expected. Glad they didnt' mess with the U too much and really glad the old helmet stays in the rotation. Had nightmarish visions of Nike ******** it up like they did with the Dolphins new logo

Seems like they went back to 2001, the Klam is back and green is back.

I'm not a fan of the smoke because grey isnt one of the colors, but i do get the tribute to the team running through the smoke.

Wish the white jerseys had a bit more orange on them.

Really glad they didnt go with black

They should never never wear Green/Orange or Orange/Green combos - awful.

I don't like the orange helmet. Just looks wierd.

I really don't understand the return of the Klam. Didnt the fans essentially shut the klam down ten years ago by not buying any of the merchandise? Why is it back?

If they must have a silohuette on the helmet, why not have Hurricane warning flags which i've always thought was huge under utilized component of the team. Might even look good as a substitute for the U on a grey helmet for the smoke (i can't believe i actually typed that)

Green was never the primary color for any of our historically great teams...
