I know it's a good sign when even your position coaches are so highly regarded, but for the love of God can this staff stop being poached!!

Not having continuity sucks. But look at the bright side. Under Shannon/Coker, getting an assistant coach here had to be a hard sell job. Now, guys are moving on to good gigs. It should be fairly easy for Golden to get good hires; and clearly, he's been making some good choices.

Also, don't forget, good head coaches constantly have their staff poached and still win (Carroll, Meyer, Stoops, etc.) As long as the leadership at the top is there, everything beneath it should flow well.

Jethro hasn't impressed me as a coach. Good luck to him if he leaves. Getting Kevin Patrick would be huge. It's also good that Kareem Brown is a GA now with his DL experience.

Can someone explain to me why our coaches are such hot commodities? especially considering we are only a 6 and 7 win program over the last 2 years. Meanwhile, a guy like Kirby Smart from Bama and Chavis from LSU still does not have a HC job.

Probably because they're generally viewed as being available b/c of the low pay at UM. It's attractive to other schools because you get the rare combination of a coach who both (a) has experience coaching and recruiting big-time players and (b) is underpaid relative to his peers.

I think Smart has declined some jobs, but regardless ... permits a program to hire a guy who has recruiting ties to the most fertile area for football recruits in the country.

I think a lot of people sell franklin short. I think hes a good developer of talent. He got a couple players from temple to the nfl. Imo

possibly. I'm thinking its more because of the investigation/sanctions. Maybe other programs feel its easy to pry coaches away from us than other schools because of this dark cloud over us.

Hope he goes, nothin but a disappointment hire. Can't coach, can't recruit, can't do squat. ****** lollygagging waste of human life.

Yet Oklahoma is still interested. Interesting......I guess they know something you don't.

At the heart of this issue is that UM's pay scale for assistant coaches is likely not on par with the rest of the elite level programs.
