UM vs FSU I: Predictions

What makes you think Miami will win? Everything I've seen is "if morris plays great", "if duke goes wild", "if the defense slows down winston".

So basically if Miami plays up to their full potential they win... which they haven't played up to their potential at all.

I could be way off on the score but I don't see any way Miami wins this game unless FSU loses it.

My brain is saying one my heart is saying another.
At the end of the day I'm putting my faith in Duke Johnson. Guy is a true champion, understands what this program was built on. Is capable of putting a team on his back.

27-24 UM, Nole fans stunted by their lack of TDs.

Because football isn't won on paper.

Typical FSU fan, already thinking of excuses.

The main reason I think Miami will win is simple: we are physically and mentally tougher than FSU.
Athlete wise the two teams are similar. We are better than yours in some positions and yours are better than ours in others.

Your, meaning FSU, team has played one game all year, where they went into a hostile environment and beat an opponent that was so overconfident that they didn't know what to do when smacked in the mouth.

How does your team face adversity?
Get ready because adversity is coming, and it's going to be hard, fast and brutal.

Canes have an opportunity to shut all the haters and doubters the **** up.
You will vanish when UM wins.

Of course, Because I disagree and don't predict Miami to win, I am automatically a FSU fan. I would think we could agree on this at least - ON PAPER FSU is better than Miami.

Miami has struggled against their last 3 opponents, needing a game winning drive to beat the last 2! FSU on the other hand has demolished their last 3 opponents. In a rivalry game funny things can happen, and it could be closer than expected; but I haven't seen anything from Miami this year to give me the confidence that you two have, to see a UM win.

Keep it close into the fourth, then we can see what FSU is made of, they've rolled all year and never been pressured after the half.
Miami has built a never quit, workman type mentality, especially in the second half. That gives me hope for a Miami win.
I also have never seen a college QB, a Freshman no less, not have one "off" game, that's all we need from Winny.

This site is homer central for UM fans. Any opinion that doesn't express "UM is the greatest football team on earth" is not accepted here. Which makes this site's game day thread so much fun when the homers see first hand how far UM has to go before they can be considered a great team.

For all UM fans that are not sure about the game, your best bet is to remain quiet, before the trolls unleash their venom on you.

Don't care who we played haven't given up more than 23 points all year, so 27-24 Canes!!! Let's go

1. The Canes big, athletic OL must impose its will upon the Noles front 7. Lots of zone running plays as that is who we are now...if we keep the Noles DL from penetrating quickly we will have success at this. Against uf easley never allowed our zone run game to get untracked by finding his way through the gap quickly...we have to keep jernigan at bay. It may be cliche but this is where the game will be won or lost. If we are able to stay in front of the sticks, "on schedule" - we win this game. Efficiency on third down will need to be much improved.

2. Can Coley or Scott step up to the challenge of the Philip Dorsett role? Can we hit a big play early to silence the crowd? I'm sure fsu will be expecting us to take some shots early...can we connect?

3. Can we use James Coley's familiarity with the florida state players and systems to our advantage? Will it be quantifiable?

4. How will Florida State respond to adversity? We are road tested and battle hardened, and we have proven that we own the fourth quarter once again, albeit in circumstances that should not have ever come to pass. But remember, even the great Ken Dorsey threw four picks at BC in 2001 and we found a way to win. Florida State has not been put in that situation yet this year - if we are in a tight one in the fourth, will florida state wilt?

5. Can we win the turnover battle? A takeaway early could put us in the driver's seat.

These are just a few of the things on my mind. One thing I am sure of is that Florida State, even though they are the media darling this year, is not some unbeatable juggernaut...just like Miami is not the pushover that the nation seems to think.

My prediction: Canes score early, demoralize fsu with the running game when it counts, get a play on special teams, Jameis Winston makes a bunch of plays but the Canes don't allow THE play, the dagger...game goes down to the wire and the Canes escape Doak with a 27-24 victory.

What exactly would an FSU fan know about how great teams look?

UM 57-11 little brothers
Wanted to make it 111-7, but i want to be respectful. Bobby Bowden was a nice man. :stormwarning:

Let me clarify my prediction....

Morris has been throwing off his back foot way to much which makes me worried
Our D has been getting killed on 3rd downs which Jamesion has been great at
Our biggest hope is for another ugly game that we can pull out in the end but IMO the staff doesn't trust Morris in the situation. FSU D is too good to let our running game go down the field.

Morris just looks off. You do have to play your SR. QB when you are undefeated so I don't blame the staff for keeping him in. The D is built on O's making mistakes or having to kick FG's and I just don't see FSU having those issues.

This right here is spot on. Its weird reading most fans on this site picking us, its like us going to a rivals board like GT and watching them pick scored over us. I mean I know we are fans but u don't gotta be a homer and pick us because it doesn't change anything. (talking about others)

I think we lose this game and might get thrashed but the ACC rematch is more important to me, theres no way we beat them twice. I'll take this loss and win the rematch in a monumental upset of the series and destroying there date with Alabama and causing a meltdown in the bcd polls hahaha. I think we win that later game, well I'm hoping maybe I'm getting a little homerism.
