UM officially announces newly designed uniforms for 2014

Did the NCAA clowns ever officially mandate jersey length? This used to be a bada$$ look. I even remember receivers going with shorter jerseys sometimes.

Black w/ orange makes us look like those Halloween Oreos. I like the grey much better, though it needs to be paired with grey pants.

Want black? Go cheer for another school. Miami is Orange, Green and White. Anything else is stupid.

Yea, black & orange/green is definitely more bad *** than gray. Those basketball uniforms were boss.

Take that and make them football jerseys.

But I agree, they better stop ****ing around with the pants. You can't switch up our entire image and leave the pants the same. That's some bootleg ****. If they do gray jerseys, do gray pants. If they do black jerseys, do black pants. Whoever thought of using those white pants with gray jerseys needs to be fired.

Also quit messing with the names on the back of the jerseys. Don't write "Hurricanes." Give these kids some recognition, not everyone knows every player on the team.

Those Smoke Unis SCREAMED a rushed job. Nice idea, but clearly not given enough time/effort/money to dream up matching pants and individualised nameplates.
 
Is there any reason we can't just have the uniforms from the 1980s? Uniform colors and sleek designs don't win you games or get you recruits. Bama, OSU, USC, Mich, PSU, FSU, UF, OU, UT.....none of those big time schools resort to gimmicks with their uniforms. But at this point it's all Al Golden really can do.

lol, Blake James was talking about new uniforms literally a week after the NCAA report came out and while they were undefeated.

It has nothing to do with Golden.
 
No matter what happens with these uniforms half the fan base will ***** and none of our opinions mean ****.

As long as the new uniforms create a buzz with recruits that's all that matters.
 
They wore the stormtroopers too much. Kinda took the big game feel out of them.

Is there any reason why Canes fans want to continue to compare ourselves to traditional powers when that is exactly what we were the opposite of when things were rolling?

Since when did we want to be like those schools? Winning is all that matters but it doesn't mean we need to do it that way. The news of 4 uniform colors and three helmet colors with the smoke helmet being the 4th is great. Not very old school Big Ten of Golden which is a welcome change.
 
Is there any doubt that this athletic department will completely **** this up? Half of me expects the new logo to be sebastian the ibis in a heated slap fight.

thats cause you're a negative lil ***** that has a negative take on every single issue. Takes a real ****bag to spin new uni's as a negative
 
We are an established middle of the pack ACC program. Keep the "U" on the helmet. Everything else is up for grabs AFAIAC.

I got two reasons:

1.) this isn't 1980 (kids care to a certain extent about this new ****)
2.) We are nothing like any of those schools and we never have been (not to mention as ridler pointed out, a lot of these schools have done **** like this)
 
Really wish we would go retro, circa 1980's, and call it a day.

Nope, dudes want these ***gy, gimmicky combinations.
