UM coaches hit the road: Day 1

Mom wants him out of Miami means the money is being offered to her from somewhere else.

He's gone..might as well start looking elsewhere.

Im a recruiting vet....that Mom wants to get out..Mom told me to hold off on committing ...but i alllllmost did.....is the line the coaches/ handlers tell the kid to feed to subscriptors/bloggers to keep the heat off...when i see it come up i look else where.

Davis backed down from committing to Miami on March 8th. That was the commitment CJ Henderson was alluding to that day.

Mom wants him out of Miami, he likes Miami. I was told "only thing holding him back from committing to Miami has been his mom"

Apparently a decision is coming in the summer, he's also working on enrolling early. Heard a rumor he "silent-committed" to UF, when he visited with Gamble & Henderson. If it's true or not, remains to be seen.

Kids throw around the dream school and dream offer line all the time. Would you be happy to know this kid was begging Miami to offer him at the South Florida Shootout last year? If dream school meant anything, Antonio Callaway would have been a cane, he was throwing up the U 24/7 with Cedrick Wright & Dionte Mullins in little league all the time. It doesn't mean anything.

Miami is in a battle with UF for Davis right now. Recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint. Things change fast. Davis has "almost" committed to Miami twice since the cycle started in February. Long way to go.

Mom wants him out of Miami? Is he just in trouble like Dalvin Cook was rumored to be in (which I never believed honestly) and needs to leave the city for his own safety? Or does his own mom just not like him lmao? I get that she might want him to get out and experience something new... but Gainesville isn't broadening your horizons much.

Don't know what kind of trouble Devante was in, but his mom was killed in a drive by shooting and moved in with Cook's grandmother a couple of years ago...

he wasnt in trouble per se.....but a relative of his wasn in the mix....so it probably was better for him to get out. Once they got Cook, and Freeman regardless he was headed there...Cook and him are very close..and everybody in the city looks up to Freeman

Careful, people love dodging that 5 ton elephant in the room around here...lmao. Tons of kids from Compton, LB, Watts and Inglewood attend USC with no issues from their parents, but Miami is just soooo different for some reason?!?!

There are legitimate situations where a kid should go away for school for sure, but when MOST of the best seemingly have that issue?!?! hmmmm.

People that think it doesn't happen are so naive. I know a few players at UT that tell me they don't get paid, but while they live in the shtty dorms, drive the same car they had in HS, can't eat out, don't have money to do anything etc.. they have told me players never tell them they are getting paid, but when they live off campus in a brand new condo, drive a 2014 camaro, and eat out every meal of the day and act shady all of the time.. its pretty obvious.

One case a guy I know read a story about someone on UT's team in his hometown's local newspaper when he signed to UT it was about how he lived with his grandmother his entire life because his mom worked 3 jobs and didn't have time to raise him... Then a few months later he enrolls at UT and plays football. Now his mom is retired, shows up to every game, and drives a Benz.

I have a 6'3" 185lbs freshman receiver who just picked up offers from Toledo and UT & Butch is already breaking out the gifts to mom.
