UCF vs Baylor - Storm Johnson Should Still Be A Cane

It's so obvious. There's a reason they beat Louisville on their home field and we got taken to the woodshed. It's a process and we're still under the cloud.

It's clear that UCF just has better players than we do and it has nothing at all to do with coaching. But there's no reason to be upset, it's a process and well...the cloud. Once Golden brings in all these recruits and we can rise to the talent level that UCF is on we will be fine!

I hope the administration and the coaching staff is as outraged at this as we are. We should be watching Miami doing this... No Excuses. I was 18 the last time Miami was in a BCS bowl. Never did I think walking into that Orange Bowl game that it would be over ten years until Miami returned. I thought it was disappointing not playing for a title.

I hear this corny **** so much on this site does it really deserve a thread ? Shut that **** up

You can just tell that UCF is a mature program; they have depth and a lot of high level contributing upperclassmen; they also seem physically superior to Miami, bigger

The score differential in our game vs USF and theirs vs LVille is a wash. We aren't much more talented than them....if at all. They're a solid team.

Real talk...

This R Hall kid moves like S Coley in the open field. Smooth as silk.

Did he have any major offers a few years ago? He's from Miami.......of course.

2 star recruit but yeah looks like Stacy out there we could have used him while Malcolm Dorset t herb and scott were all hurt/suspended

He transferred because he had and still has fumbling issues. He fumbled a lot and the staff tried working with him on it but Lamar and Mike were still in front of him on the depth chart because of it so he left.

I knew him personally and he was extremely selfish. Didn't want to share the ball with Lamar at all.....

Storm Johnson's father said Canes backfield was 'crowded' for his son

There will be one less breakaway running back in the Hurricanes backfield next season.

Storm Johnson Westleigh "Storm" Johnson, coming off a freshman season in which he carried the ball just nine times for 119 yards, but showed a lot of promise with his 71-yard touchdown run in the regular season finale against South Florida, informed coach Al Golden Tuesday afternoon he would like to transfer.

“As of this afternoon, Westleigh Storm Johnson is no longer a part of the University of Miami Football program," UM coach Al Golden said in a statement released through the school Tuesday night.

"When these situations arise, we always assist the student-athlete and his family in the transfer process. We wish Storm success in all future endeavors.”

Johnson's father, Wes, said his son had spoken to Golden "multiple times" about leaving since he took over as coach.

"He wanted to be closer to home. He's a mama's boy and the backfield is crowded," Johnson Sr. said. "Life is full of surprises. We're not broken up. It's his life. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions."

Johnson, who finished this spring as the team's No. 3 running back, was one of six players reportedly suspended for the season opener against Maryland – a report coach Al Golden would neither confirm nor deny during spring practice.

Johnson (6-0, 216) also was reportedly involved in an April 27 incident at a UM residential hall for which school police were called to the scene.

Johnson Sr. said he had been told his son he was "not suspended" and that none of that played into his son's decision.

"He's coming home, going to relax, get into a workout regime and he'll decide within then next couple weeks what he's going to do," Westleigh Sr. said. "There's nothing else that needs to be said."

Terrible recruiting classes and attrition are really holding the current team back.

It's clear as day. The NFL draft will prove this to be true.

I also think the days of our players being better in the NFL than college ala Sam Shields are over too.

Briles is fraud. Whenever his team plays against a team with a pulse they struggle.

Ucf would die for some of the recruits we get. This is all coaching and having your team prepared.

UCF is a very well coached team. They don't have more talent than Miami. Duke, Coley, Bush, Howard, Jenkins, McCord, AQM, Perryman. UCF would kill for those players and a few more not mentioned.

UCF's success is the result of great coaching, great player development and recruiting. All of that is coaching.
