Bottom line:

If he leaves, this is 100% on Cristobal.

TVD looked like a potential #1 overall pick after 2021. At the very least, a surefire 1st rounder. Cristobal came in, took two months to hire an OC and ended up picking quite possibly the worst OC in the history of the program. TVD predictably regressed, got hurt and then wasn’t publicity supported by his HC. His NFL stock plummeted. He’s not even a lock to be drafted at this point. A new OC was then hired who TVD allegedly doesn’t get along with. Now, the Kings of College Football have come calling with an offer for him to start for them as well as receive life changing financial compensation.

And you guys are mad at him?

As much as I love TVD as a player he doesn't deserve more NIL money and if he wants to go...then so be it. I'll suffer through this year (AGAIN) but this ain't a great look for him going forward if this is the case

Honestly, the more I think about it, he has a chance to leave college football only hated by one Fanbase. If he goes to Alabama and ***** the bed, he will be hated by two fan bases. Alabama has very high standards for quarterback play, and I’m not sure the he can meet those standards.

What's interesting is you can create a 501c3, apply for tax exemption, and then get contributions as if you were tax exempt while the application is pending. Which in today's times is about 9 months. I honestly have never worked with or dealt with a situation where it was not granted and have no idea what the fall out is if it is not.

Completely correct.

I know there was some fallout a few years ago when the IRS questioned some of the political 501s that were being created, but you're right, I've never seen the blowback on a "charitable" non-profit a year or two into its existence.

Gonna be...interesting...for sure...

Mario hired the Broyles award winning OC away from a playoff team and then fired him to move to an air raid. TVD caught lightning in a bottle for half of a season two years ago under Lashlee and then parlayed that into a ton of preseason hype heading into last year.

Gattis was garbage but an NFL caliber QB doesn't perform the way TVD did last year. I just think the kid believes he's better than he actually is and so does most of our fanbase.
look, you can trash TVD all you want, and you may be right. I think ultimately TVD sticks around because if Bama is going this route I think they can do better. Notre Dame probably did do better. so we might agree on his talent.

but my point isn't about TVD. *any* quarterback with better options would look at the absolute ****show that was last season and want to run for the hills. Jaden Rashada and Jake Garcia got out as quickly as they could. the idea that TVD wouldn't want to be looking around after the situation we put him in last year is crazy. of course he is looking around. anyone here would be looking around. that was one of the worst offenses I've ever seen in my life, and TVD's part in that is not really relevant to the discussion honestly.

Havent been payin attention close enough maybe, when did this happen?

3 win team without TVD. Anyone saying anything different is fooling themselves
Well we won 2 last year with Jake and Jacurri starting, and I imagine we could have beaten both Bethune and Southern Miss with either of them too. So a more experienced Jacurrr, and a better all around team should lose more games?

Miami Ohio
Bethune Cookman
Temple
Georgia Tech
UVA
BC

We can win those 6 with Jacurri.

Now we need to beat 1 of TAMU, Clemson, UNC, NC State, FSU, Louisville to get to 7 wins!

this opinion must have been stated by the same person that said Zion was a high first round pick. the statement was ludicrous.

His balls (pause) stay in the air for like three years. He's a good cfb QB but first round? I don't know man. To be a first rounder you have to do that for multiple seasons. That's how u get busts like Zach Wilson. Dudes play one year good and they get taken too high. I think eventually we win without him. I don't think we win this year with or without him so. We can throw Emory in there or someone who can move and have a decent O. Zion Nelson was once talked about as a first rounder and numerous others. Don't put stock in mock drafts till those combines are over.

Kayaa after his first year was a first rounder but others rose and u have to play like that your whole career. Last season he was missing a ton of dudes on basic throws. I know the O was buns sauce but bruh there were some throws on him. He's not some can't miss Bryce Young or Lawrence. If u stack u will win. Stetson Bennet had great numbers and two natties and he ain't a first round QB. U can win without an elite QB and we probably won't win this season so why be mad if he leaves?

So what will likely be "options" are to make a contribution with no strings attached (no special access, no free ****) in which you may qualify for a deduction....

...or else you might get a partial deduction (amount contributed, less the fair market value of what you receive in return)...

As I was mentioning above, you might be in a good zone with "small fry" contributions, but I think the IRS is going to take issue with the multi-million dollar contributions. To the extent that there are any (each Collective may differ).

****'s getting...interesting...from a tax standpoint...

Agreed…..you absolutely need an entitled QB who hasn’t proven much yet doesn’t need to take any accountability. It’s really the cornerstone of team success.

A year ago or so, I got destroyed in a thread for posting something similar with our kids and social media.

They believe in Brown now. I guess it’s just a coincidence.
Brown is a long way from deserving that confidence though. IF he keeps progressing that kid is gonna be VERY good. But he needs ALOT of work in the passing game before we should have that discussion. If we gotta go into a season now with what we have MINUS tvd than it's gotta be Williams. But I don't see him going anywhere right this moment. Only thing that's changed with this since it first popped up begining of December is now EVERYONE knows about it so we'll see how he responds to the attention. That may be the varying factor that pushes him out. Hope not cause I want one more year of tutoring for both brown and Williams(atleast 1).

In a heartbeat I would show TVD the door. I have always been a big fan of him but this is ridiculous. UM cannot and should not give into his demands. The chemistry on the entire team will change and players will only be looking for $$$$$. I would have a long talk and tell him he has 24 hours to remain loyal to his team and the University or he is off the team. This kid is all about himself and ***** HIM!

Yanno, guy has had 3 OCs in 3 years AND had his new HC handcuff him with the worst OC possible for his skillset. Mario single handedly took TVD from a top 10 pick to a UDFA.

But y’all rip him because he’s leaving your school.

Yep!

TVD got bent over and rooted good last season.

This program can't seem to continue ANYTHING that seems to be working. Every HC thinks he's gotta come in and ignore the FEW things that were actually working. And just rip it apart.

Well, our HC got schooled last season - his moves, painfully extracted coach evaluations, his plan, his choices for his staff - his inability to hold it together -

I'd really hate to see him go, but TVD doesn't owe us one, damned thing.

I saw this LAST season, was astounded he was coming back to UM - and the whole time blaming Mario for his trying to force a square peg in a round hole.
