Exactly what is "tampering" today with NIL and players having agents? An agent can be literally shopping his player all over the country without the other program actually having made contact. The agent can do a "back and forth" and once all parties are in agreement the player enters the portal and is snapped up. This is no longer college football.

You just now figuring this out. I was for the players getting some extra money from the schools included into their scholarship. Any logical person could see this NIL and unrestricted free agency was going to be a ******* disaster for the game.

Idc who the OC was, when I saw him throw 3 picks in a row vs MTSU I lost all faith in TVD. Nobody made him throw those footballs. Charleston Rambo turned this guy into something bigger & better then he is on this board. That's just keeping it a buck.

Well, you could be right, nothing is certain, but you're conflating two different scenarios, and incorrectly assigning a probability to one based on the outcome of another. We had a plan to get a DT last year and we got the MD kid. We had a plan to bolster the OL through the portal and got Cohen and Lee. You're being dishonestly selective. Without know what the "plan" is or the people involved or how it would happen, we just don't know.

It speaks to the program’s standing and how it’s perceived by recruits, players, coaches, etc. And if it’s indeed about money and we don’t have the NIL means to keep our starting qb after all of the bluster we’ve heard from Ruiz and others we’re in big trouble.

No it doesn’t if an employee left another company for a ton of money and the original company thought that employee wasn’t worth the price, despite their best efforts (and we did bump his NIL btw), does the company still look bad? It happens ALL the time and big businesses find replacements.

You have no idea if Bama is overpaying. We also don’t know what each program is valuing TVD at, but we do know Bama is offering more. It’s what you do after the departure and the results following that paint the whole picture. If a company keeps chugging along or produces better numbers, maybe they were better off. Maybe they struggle with said employee’s departure…but it doesn’t say **** except TVD is a punk.

I don’t believe he is leaving, but there is atleast some truth to the rumor. Can’t just wave it off as “not true” or else it would of been denied, not “this shouldn’t of gotten out”

Nah, he's not being disingenuous - not sure how you inferred that. I'm sure the coaches think they have a good plan in place and heck, maybe they've kicked the tires behind the scenes on some guys and have gotten some mutual interest. That doesn't change the fact that when reality hits these other QBs and they;re in their contract year, it will take a very compelling case to move them. We are not a compelling case. Point in case - look at the WRs in the portal last year (and this year).

This thread is starting to look a lot like Wong’s when he tried to renegotiate his NIL deal. Tons of knee-jerk reactions saying he was overrated, while unceremoniously showing him the door.

This is the new reality of college football. I’m just gonna let it play out. No grudges either way. Those of you thinking otherwise try and remember, everyone we get from the portal going forward is doing the same exact thing to his current program. And in that scenario, we are all for it.
