There are lots of ways coaches can fall up with being publicly fired. Interesting off season ahead

Give him whatever title he wants to get him here as a CB coach.

Cb coach/Co-DC/VP of Defensive Player Acquisition/Director of South Florida Player Development
My hope is that Baker gets some attention from some other program & gets a new job. Then Diaz could elevate Banda to DC, make Patke the full time LB coach, put Rumph at Safeties & bring in T-Rob as CB's coach.

Now obviously, people would have a seizure if Banda was DC but Diaz would actually call the Defense & Banda would basically just be a DC in title only & Rumph would stay on staff coaching so none of the former players could complain about Rumph being fired lol.

I know that would never happen, but imo that's the best scenario to keep everyone happy.

Jaycee Horn currently right now at South Car is legit one of the best CB's in college football.

Despite South Carolina's struggles this season T-Rob is still the 12th ranked recruiter in the SEC & 29th in the nation.

I said this in the Muschamp thread back when he was fired, but if we brought in T-Rob he would transform our CB recruiting overnight similar to how Coach Hickson did at RB.

He's instant juice on the recruiting trail, it makes too much sense for Diaz to not at the very least make a phone call, if he doesn't it would be a miscalculation on his part.

At this point unless the former players have eligibility left I could give two ***** what they think! And if they want Rumph to stay on staff then I question there ability to see the forest from the trees and do what’s best for the program. Rumphs gotta go and if a few players from 18-20 years ago want to throw a temper tantrum then so be it. Theyll get over it in a day and if they don’t, then who cares!
