Top Three Coming Soon For Linebacker McCluster Following Miami Visit

Mccluster- 6'1 190lbs, 5.13 40, 4.70 shuttle, 27 inch vertical

The ESPN numbers are different
40 - 4.83
Shuttle - 4.55
Vert - 27.1
Power Throw - 33.0
SPARQ - 65.64

The SPARQ and Vert were the lowest at his position (listed at ATH).

I watched a few highlights and he does make some nice plays. But on plays where he has to run sideline to sideline or chase, you can definitely see the lack of speed.

@Lance Roffers how would this translate in your database?

Weight: -1.45 Standard Deviations below the mean
40 Yard- -1.48 Standard Deviations below the mean
Shuttle- -1.44 Standard Deviations below the mean
Vertical- -1.31 Standard Deviations below the mean

He profiles at around the 3rd percentile without knowing his Powerball.

These numbers put him as a 10th percentile athlete.

Would be curious what the staff sees that puts him so high on the board.

If you see Brook”s and Huff’s t tape and also that kid from Cali then you put this kids tape on....

I mean that's a little unfair to the kid as Huff is a great athlete and Brooks would've tested as high pre-knee injury. But agree McCluster's numbers leave a little to be desired.

It may be a little unfair but then again those are the guys that would be in front of him on the depth chart if he came here. If the measurable aren’t there to mold, you better have elite instincts, a motor that never runs cold, and be a coach on the field type. Those traits can still make you great. We’ve seen it time and time again.

If you can see it or process it quick, you can play quick.

Take this kid all day and if you are able to out recruit him with someone else then you figure it out down the line. We need backers like yesterday. Yes, he tested poorly and it makes you raise an eye brow but when you turn the tape on it is evident that he can play. Plus, it would hurt FSU as they are banking on him.

I hate the concept of taking a kid to take him then continue to recruiting over him.

Dont take a kids commitment, if your still going to recruit the position.

If your going to take a commitment, tell the kid if you keep looking or "enjoying the process" we are going to continue to keep looking and enjoying the process ourselves.
Exactly. kids are going to keep taking visits so we have to keep recruiting guys and if they are processed out so be it.
