It's times like this I kinda wish i still lived in Birmingham where i could listen to the local radio show and laugh at the Bama fans collectively losing their sh*t right now.
This seems like a good time to point out that Larry Coker was handed the keys to Lambo and it took him over two seasons to lose his first game.Yeah but difference is Saban took control of a program that was left much like Mario was given here….
Saban turned over a Lamborghini to Deboer and said don’t wreck it… and he went out and lost to Vandy….
Bama fans can accept a loss to a Georgia or top tier from time to time, but Vandy doesn’t recruit close to their level

Sounds like a top target for F$U.
Great High School ranking, has barely played in college...
Yea but when he did lose them he lost them where no one could find them for 20 years….This seems like a good time to point out that Larry Coker was handed the keys to Lambo and it took him over two seasons to lose his first game.
If translated to the NIL Era, effectively what Alabama had during the Saban Era was the ability to spend $20-$30M more any other team's NIL collective. But pre-NIL, these were in allotments of $300K or less. A handful of other schools were allowed to spend, but others were hammered if they tried the bag game (see Ole Miss).Agreed 110%. Prior to the NIL era, Saban and Alabama were clearly cheating and buying players. They routinely landed the best recruiting classes in the country year after year. TAMU signing that monster class in 2022 must have had the alarm bells ringing for Saban and I'm almost certain he called TAMU out for "buying" its entire recruiting class. Pot meet kettle.
I still think DeBoer is a really good coach and recruiter, but I do agree that the dominant run that program had with Saban at the helm with not be repeated with NIL in place. Given his clear opposition to NIL, Saban probably felt the same way and decided to walk away.
Fire the employee, it is the only way.
Probably a selfish, poor performer anyways.
