Hes not overrated he will build a monster roster and without Saban at bama its free meals. Bama going to be food in the future for Auburn, it will take awhile and wont happen immediately but its going to happen.I missed this: yeah Freeze needs to do a better job outside the state but the guy has nearly every top Alabama guy committed so far, a top 5 or so class, and the Bama guys he has committed (like 7-8) are top 100 overall recruits.
I see why people like Freeze etc, and was mentioned for for here, but I think he’s overrated. He will pull a rabbit out of his hat for a shockingly amazing win only to follow it up with multiple terrible losses.
DeBoer, I think is underrated, but I guess we will see. He certainly can’t keep losing so many talented instate kids as it’s not sustainable long term.
These dodo-heads forget about Saban and ULM?
both can be true, he can be a good recruiter and a bit overrated.Hes not overrated he will build a monster roster and without Saban at bama its free meals. Bama going to be food in the future for Auburn, it will take awhile and wont happen immediately but its going to happen.
Fair.Yeah but difference is Saban took control of a program that was left much like Mario was given here….
Saban turned over a Lamborghini to Deboer and said don’t wreck it… and he went out and lost to Vandy….
Bama fans can accept a loss to a Georgia or top tier from time to time, but Vandy doesn’t recruit close to their level
The fact is Saban saw what was happening with NIL leveling the field and wanted no part of it. Yes, Saban did leave them, but what they don't realize is it was already headed in that direction. It's just accelerated now. That game vs Vandy felt like our last second loss at UNC in 2004 that was a clear sign of our imminent decline. Bama won't experience it that badly because they have so many resources, but it'll never be dominant again like it was under Saban who had every advantage possible and no oversight.Bruh Saban went down swinging. Flipped Riley from us last minute even. How’d he leave them in a bad spot?
Agreed 110%. Prior to the NIL era, Saban and Alabama were clearly cheating and buying players. They routinely landed the best recruiting classes in the country year after year. TAMU signing that monster class in 2022 must have had the alarm bells ringing for Saban and I'm almost certain he called TAMU out for "buying" its entire recruiting class. Pot meet kettle. The fact is Saban saw what was happening with NIL leveling the field and wanted no part of it.
