Thoughts on how South Carolina HC Shane Beamer handled it?

Fine, then let the public know that this is the plan for the game. If you're going to disrespect the bowl, college football and the fans by treating this as a glorified spring scrimmage, then have the decency to explain it to the public. As for the coaches needing to play Emory to see what they have, he's been with the program for 2 years and has played. If they needed this game for verification then they are not doing it right.
#1 Why would they give ISU their gameplan of who is playing and when before the game? Just nonsensical.

#2 There are a million examples of guys playing differently in games than practice. Emory supposedly looked decent in practice and obviously the opposite once real live action was happening.

1) I would agree with premise of your question of why divulge gameplan before game. But that applies to a real game. Once players start dipping on their teams before or during games, then this is nothing but a glorified scrimmage. Just announce it to public before game, thank the players who don't want to play an entire game for their contributions, wish them well, and just play the rest of the roster. Get Judd into the game as well. This over looking like some 7v7 bullst summer squad.

2) Agree that certain players perform differently in practice vs games. But this was ridiculous.

They didn't need to play Emory to see if he's good or not. He's been here 2 years and has game experience. Why didn't Dawson let him throw? Because Dawson already knew he wasn't capable.

We needed Emory to play to see what we had. Not sure what is so hard to understand about this. It was a win/win. Got to see Cam play one more time and break the record and then got to see that Emory can never be the guy at Miami.

Then why not open the playbook when he was in. We saw the last drive, he sucks

I don't understand some of this.

Our defense lost us the game.

But let's pile on Cam - and crucify the QB who was swarmed and never had a chance to get into a rhythm.

Run, run, run, and run more and a pass here and there.

Field goal on a three yard reach? When our line COULD and WAS pushing them around?

We got our *** beat. And the entire team contributed.
No one is “crucifying” cam. People are just stating their opinion which is either commit to play the full game or don’t. In fact, **** near every post stating this opinion throws in the requisite “cam is great but” or “I love cam but”. Furthest thing from crucifying

Mario had opted out from corching in 2H...

Would Miami have won the Pop Tarts Bowl?

He's referring to Emory in that part of the sentence.

That record has a massive asterisk anyway. I don't even get the point of it. "The D1 record" misleading chit + the extra year
Yep...like when McCafferty "broke" Barry's record..... Needed more games to do it... then put stats side by side and that's all you need to see....
Happening in the pro's right now...Saquan might pass ****erson...but needed more games to do it....

For everyone that’s still *****ing about this - it was always the plan. This is Giants GM Joe Schoen, who was personally at the bowl game…on the field, and recording Cam on his phone. Right when half time hit, Joe left. He knew Cam was only playing a half. Cam didn’t “quit at halftime” the plan was to play a half. Yall gotta stop ****ting on Cam.
This guy still has this job.....

We know why he looks decent in practice. He’s going against our defense.

To me it is not about crucifying Cam. It is the aholes, otherwise known as the adults and leaders of this sport, who got us here in the first place what with players dipping on teams during the season and bowl games. Exhibit A being the coaches themselves who have been dipping on their teams during their bowl season and, even worse, the NCAA leadership who have encouraged bad behavior thanks to the way they have overlapping, if not conflicting, windows for transfer portal, bowls, spring practice, etc. They have created this mess thanks to them and the many scum agents and hangers-on.

Hey! The players didn't set the rules!

I've NEVER in my life seen a perfect system - anywhere - as you've got dumbazzes everywhere - always based on personal gain of money or influence.

I see adults - legally adults - attack players time and again, run them into the ground, just sadistic comments when anyone with an ounce of sense would realize the players don't make the calls -

You're pizzed. I get it. This was a team loss - from HC down, including the bench warmers.

We got better.

Get over it. If you're perfect - you know where all the blame lies - you know the specific solutions to correct all these problems with UM football and NCAA football - get off your *** and get them fixed.

When the Christ was standing before Pilate (this is the Xmas season) - and the crowd was yelling for death - I can picture someone with this attitude yelling the loudest.

You're either part of the problem - or you're part of the solution.

Whatchu gonna do?

I assume you were present and witnessed all of the statements and decisions of the coaches and Cam when this determination was made.

How it was made. For what purpose it was made. What parties were involved in the decision.

I don't awaken with the idea that my opinion is the only one that counts - nor with the concept that anyone gives a tinkers dam what my opinion is.

What I see here - just based on casual observation - is some miserable SOB's that just need to criticize every element of other behaviors, failings, mistakes, judgements, or decisions - that don't agree with theirs.

I've never seen such a collection of self-important cry babies and b*tches so concentrated in one group.

We got better - the win/loss number says so.

Take it - leave it - but the players should be left alone. They're kids, for God's sake.

You want to whiz on the coaches - help yourself. I'll help too.

Not that your opinion will alter one play, one decision, one timeout, or one element.

Time to cowboy up - check to make sure you whiners actually have a pair - and honestly - STFU on the players.

Only the cu-nts will lay into youngsters. Who don't make the decisions and have little control over a game plan and game decisions.
