So sit out for the entirety of the game. You're either all in that day or you're not. It's really that simple. If you're done midway, get out of that uniform. You already said you're done, so why do you want to sit there ready?
Those that say they don't matter, didn't play or didn't play a while ago. They matter, in particular to those who will be moving into the workforce not named the NFL. It matters to those guys on the OL who blocked their asses off for you all season. It matters to those who paid to go see the game. It matters to the parents who have supported their kids since they played peewee football. It matters to coaches who are paid to win. It matters to some recruits who see a 3 out of 4 late season loss run.
What it doesn't matter is to those who opted out or half assed it, not finishing what they started. Everyone else wanted to win that game, but opt outs have already moved on and don't care enough to play for those who it mattered to.
I get the reasoning to a degree, monetarily, but I'll wait for the list of names that lost tons of money playing or the ability to play again. If this was the playoffs, does that matter enough? What about late season games when the dream of a title of any kind is done? Going for a record, got it, what then?
See, I played in college and this **** is weak AF. I've said it since day one. I also am not here to convince anyone of it, but I'll call it like I see it and explain it if need be. Life will go on, but Cam had nothing to prove with this game. He wanted a record and got it. We used to clown Florida for the Gator Flop which was lame as ****, but it was to get a record. So was his half, so be it. I don't dislike him for it, but I'm not proud of the act. It may cost him a spot or three, guess we'll see.
Lastly, I agree a coach should have tour back. I don't know what Mario knew beforehand, but if he knew nothing, that's BS. If this was the plan all along, say it. If it was for a record, pump that record up.
