This won't be Mario's best or most talented team at Miami..

yeah but you cant sit talented freshmen for mediocre upperclassmen who make freshman mistakes
I totally agree. We don’t rotate our d line nearly enough. And as the season goes on all those snaps have affected our pass rush. Play the young pups, cause they look and move different.

besides saban and maybe Kirby, everyone has these issues and honestly its almost like defense is nonexistent these days.

im not defending Mario's game day coaching, im blaming him for guidry who is turning out to be a disaster.
Yep. Went from king of the world to worst dc ever. Let's see if Mario makes the change. That's all you can ask.

The opposite to that is hopefully this is the worst defense he will have here and we won’t have to score 40ppg to win every week.
All we needed was 29. Today was on the offense as well. Just let too many easy chances go then it bit us in the ***. We knew there would be a game this would happen and d needed to step up. They just didn't. Couldn't get off field.

how many times do we have to expect cam to drop 4-5 td's to win a game? you cant expect that for 12 weeks.

Also Miami teams have tended to get worse as the year progresses while other teams maintain/improve. Bama, Ole Miss, South Carolina would dogwalk UM if current trajectories continue. A big part is because UM can't deal with dual threat Qbs. It's down to coaches, 100%

Even if you want to say Ward was missing check downs, ok, then run the ball more. Martinez was doing damage early on then they put the run game on ice... Why? Mix up run schemes and chew up the clock.

All of this easier said than done but youre getting paid millions upon millions to do this

I’d love to hear as to why, as I’m about 20 minutes away from posting a thread that might jar a few of you regarding development and evaluations.

the problem is he doesn’t make use of talent and body types to make the team look any better. We have either fallen for that phrase hook line and sinker or it doesn’t matter because he can’t get the best out of it. I know this was our first loss and we still have a great record on the year, but without the help of the refs and a lucky play we are 7-3 or worse. The product on game day is not substantively better than last year or last regime. We just have Cam.

Happens to everyone. You smarter than this take. I never said Mario was the best coach in America. He isnt perfect. Line was under 10 also by kickoff if you want to be petty.

People give you examples, and you shoot it down. Clemson lost at home as a 10 point favorite last week. Ole Miss lost to Kentucky at home as a 15 point favorite.

Parity is all over college football. More "upsets" are going to happen. I get your 20 year frustration though.

For people saying we wont have a Cam Ward, Mario had Justin Herbert a few years ago. It doesnt mean Miami wont ever have an elite QB again.

Guy is 9-1 in year 3.
Is Kentucky better than the Georgia Tech Swarming Bumblebees?

It’s not just about talent acquisition. It’s also about X’s and O’s and talent development.

Trust and believe when we lose to the Georgia Tech and the Dukes of the world, **** throw in
MTSU….. Mario is getting outcoached by teams that he has out recruited so please miss me with all this talent acquisition BS

We need a head coach who’s actually good at two things

recruiting and talent development or recruiting and play calling
Butch Davis was arguably out coached in every game. His OC was Larry Coker.
But he simply put so much talent on the field that the coaching issue alone did not stop UM from winning big.

Your statement about what a head coach needs to be is being made today in Tuscaloosa, Athens, Ann Arbor, even Columbus.

Every team is flawed. Every coach has limitations. We will never find a perfect coach because outside of arguably Nick Saban and his ridiculous budget, that coach does not exist.
